Why you need Shopify clearing accounts in Quickbooks

Could I use the Shopify Balance account, which acts like a bank account as a clearing account? Since only payouts from charges, and debits from shopify fees and cost of goods (if using Shopify Collective) are the transactions happening here for the main part.

I'm not clear on what account I'm creating in Shopify as my clearing account.
