Minority Report is here! After a week and a few days, I can honestly say, the AVP is the best tech I’ve ever purchased. The greatest thing about it is…it’s only going to get better from here. Those who haven’t tried it think it’s the same as the Quest lol. You are sadly mistaken if you think that is the case

Quest is 500$, AVP is 3500$. Quest is better for VR games. AVP is better for everything else. Is it 7 times better though, as the price difference suggests? It's not even 2 times better. So, it's not cost effective at all. Right now, AVP is overpriced and quest 3 is best value for money.

@@MrBillThunder As a CGI character designer I haven’t played games in a decade. So I gave my Quest (which made me feel nauseous) to my 18 year old nephew, who LOVES it. He thinks the Vision Pro is boring by comparison, and from his perspective he’s probably right. But he also has yet to hold a steady job, (because many kids cannot tolerate one moment of boredom these days) so he couldn’t afford AVP even if he wanted it 🤷🏾 If I had AVP, I would use it purely to study art, anatomy, and anything else that would help me create character assets designed for movies, toys and games

Remember, when the iPad launched a majority of the apps were scaled up iPhone apps. Literally a year later when the iPad 2 launched, there were thousands of apps that utilised the iPad's display more - especially games ! The same is also going to happen here. Especially thanks to Meta's and Microsoft's pushing and investments - ironically Apple will benefit the most. Wait a year and you'll start seeing more spatial applications that utilise the entire field of view. Games, Design tools ( both arts and engineering) , Social networks, productivity tools, Media ( movies, tutorials, series ), Metaverses, guided tours ( arts, tourism, engineering ) etc It's gonna be huge and the Vision Air of course will open up the can of worms. My prediction early 2026.

Do you think this might slow new ownership of iPhone after say version 2-4? Becomes more affordable and people decide my iPhone is actually ok new iPhone I want but the Apple Vision Pro 2 is what I’m going to get

​@@HeyNickJ I suppose, although I think from the iPhone's case the adoption started plateauing only from iPhone 7 onwards. Just because phones were so useful and so rapidly evolving. In the iPad's case I believe there was a plateauing after iPad 3 ish time. The iPad 2 was the ideal iPad and sold for over 5 years ! It was only after dramatic improvements in Air 2 and Pro 2 that your saw a resurgence. Same with Apple Watch 3, which is still the standard. I think the Vision Pro has more limitations into direct adoption than say the iPad, but it does have more potential too. And I think Apple will make upgrades ever 2 years so the Vision Pro 2 will likely come in mid 2025 and that would be a significant improvement over the current one and from there on it will most likely plateau. However, the apps will make the device more capable by the day, that the more interesting thing to follow.

Exactly! Quest owners don’t realize that many creatives spend more time designing assets for games than playing them. For that reason, I’m glad that Apple focuses more on content creation than game consumption!

I bought the Vision Pro and something made my eyes freak out. I wore it for 15 minutes and felt extremely dizzy and sick. I have a Meta Quest 3 and I have never got sick like that before. I'm not sure what happened, but I am returning it. I wonder has this happened to anyone else.

And yes, I truly believe that it is another device that will make a difference in our daily lives, like the iPhone, iPad... among others, they have already done. I think it’s really cool and definitely where we are headed with technology in the world, this and robots in our homes within the next few decades will be interesting to see. Change is often scary, but if used with caution and intentionality, it can be quite beautiful to experience the things we only ever dreamed of in past times!!

I always wanted a multi screen unencumbered set up I could bring around that was portable. I tried the Samsung galaxy odyssey vr back when it came out, but could never get the VR space to work properly this checks out all the boxes and I’m using the Vision Pro to type as I’m watching the video I love the experience so far it is a little buggy, but it is to be expected as a first GEN device, I am excited to see the future in this tech evolves into

It isn’t something you need, since you can still use a computer, tablet or smartphone to do what it does, and it isn’t truly necessary. But in the near future, it may replace all those things, and then, it may be a need for productivity, education, etc.

I hear what you are saying Nikia’s. However, the price has always turned me off with Apple. I understand it’s a premium product but at the same time there’s a reason people are looking for alternatives that they can afford. A lot of apple fans forget the kind of privilege they have to be able to afford these types of products. In my opinion, true innovation comes with making great products that everyone (not just the wealthy) can afford. And the answer is not much ..but the quest 3 can do all the apple can and so much more virtual desktop has been around for awhile. I have been to the store for the demo. It was boring. The screen and tracking were cool but I would rather use my Quest 3 even with the inferior specs. The Vision Pro is also uncomfortable. There's no killer apps on the Vision Pro.
