i personally love how the banana splits were criminals and the only reason why is because of the movie and they knew they couldn't have the murderers so they had to settle on criminals

Whoaaaaa I was not aware of the Banana Splits Movie! So it’s a gory horror film with a Five Nights at Freddy’s feel? Looks entertaining actually. Really does seem like a nod towards the film with making them criminals tho!

Top Cat was a popular show in Spain and all Latin American countries(specially in Mexico, and all South América:Perú,Ecuador,Colombia,Chile,Bolivia,Argentina,etc)because the mexican spanish dub.(Top cat,Officer Dibble,Benny the ball,Fancy Fancy,Brain,Choo choo and Spook were called Don Gato,oficial Matute,Benito Bodoque,Panza,Demóstenes,Cucho and Espanto). Genderbender Loopy de Loop and Genderbender Brain from Top Cat are the best characters🥰

I wasn't aware of the Spanish popularity. That's interesting. And I totally dropped the ball mentioning all the gender bends in the show, but Loopy de loop and Brain were both really funny, so the gender swaps obviously work!

@@BradleySmithKZbin indeed! I don’t know if he ever pitched Harvey Beaks to CN at some point, but he either should’ve, or they should’ve picked it up if he did indeed pitch it to him! Nick was the wrong network for it to go to! His first crested show, Chowder, was on CN, why wasn’t Harvey?

Actually The Smurfs is under public domain or owned by Peyo's family/estate that will just allow whomever will adapt the Smurfs, hence why he had the Live-Action film adaptations and CG animated adaptation from Sony Pictures Animation, The Hanna-Barbera Cartoon from the 1980's and the Nickelodeon cartoon.

Some of these so-called heavy hitters like Scooby Doo and the Flintstones/Jetsons are not there because of risk of overexposure. Others like the Smurfs are excluded as these are not original H-B IPs

​@Ahmed Mazer I didn't remember Huckleberry Hound as interesting personality. His a fog in my memory. I confess that I barely remember Huckleberry Hound and El Kabong, I was literally a child watching cartoon mindlessly. I only recognized their faces but never their personality, the things I watched a lot is Flintstone, Tom and Jerry, Yogi bear, Scooby Doo, and the Jetson. And they are so long ago that I forgot that they exist... of course not Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo because they are the love child of cartoon network.... for some reason.

I keep saying this, although ores not 100% faithful to the old properties this works like the Looney tunes show did because it stayed in spirit of what the originals were enough that it works. They kept with the personality of yogi that him being a doctor doesn't matter, he's still that self centered guy. And this is something some reboots or whatever messes up, they change the characters completely so it no longer has that spirit. Or do it in the tongue in cheek "yeah this is nothing like that and is not meant to be" looking at you Harvey birdman attorney at law.

I think the "simp" is supposed to be "simpleton" I've heard it in shows and got confused like in M.A.S.H. they call Hawkeye a simp and it was from years ago

Exactly though! I know it’s an actually word with an alternative meaning from the urban dictionary definition of Simp, but I do also think the writers used that word aware that it had the alternate meaning. THEY PUT BODY PILLOWS IN THE SHOW!!! How would they not know some internet slang?! Ha ha

This show is honestly really fun and clever. Huckleberry Hound being the mayor makes perfect sense since he’s one of the oldest in the main cast. My favourites are El Kabong, Augie Doggie, Doggie Daddy along with Top Cat and his crew.

Jabberjaw and the Neptunes were some of my favorite cartoon characters when I was a child, but the gender-swap is a great new direction for the character! Niccole Thurman really does a great job at bringing Jabberjaw into 2021.

It doesn't and the gender swaps are stupid. They could have just made new characters instead of gender-swapping pre-existing characters and calling it a day. Plus, they made Johnny Quest and Hadji a "married" couple which is awkward as hell, to put it lightly.
