He should have made the team last year ! He was clearly better than Brittain Covey, last years returner. He was spectacular in the preseason last year, first down the field on special teams, and he did catch a long bomb for a TD in his limited time on the field. I really hope he makes the team, he could be the new DeSean Jackson !
@gbg_siah8 ай бұрын
So you're telling me all this time I thought they were the same person and I thought Brittain Covey was the Olympic sprinter? I remember us signing him a couple years ago I never knew his name, but I thought he was Covey because he was returning kicks for us and they look somewhat similar. But yeah I think he definelty deserves more pt

@@SeraphsWitness Well, since my comment 4 months ago, Covey has broken a couple returns for 50 yard or so and I now understand what he adds to the team. On a side note, when I was thinking “Covey adds nothing,” I googled him to see his background. Interestingly, his grandfather, Stephen Covey, is a famous author who wrote the well known self-help book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” Britain Covey has been a highly effective punt return !

I mean, if you muff it into the end zone, you can just recover for a touchback. Kind of a quirky rule since it applies even if the muff occurred past the end zone
@c0r3k1d311 ай бұрын
Clearly in this situation, he was better off not doing that. Although, it's just hindsight.
@nathancampbell863711 ай бұрын
Of course. I was just mentioning because it isn't the end of the world to muff it in that spot. Like obviously any muff isn't ideal, but if you are gonna do it, do it somewhere where you can get a touchback out of it.

It's only a touchback if the momentum of the kick itself carries the ball into the endzone.

I wonder what the odds are on that strange phenomenon? 🤔 Seems to me more than a few temporarily muffed kick returns go for long gains and TDs. Having only played the sandlot version of the game with the least amount of organization. I do know that when a defender sees the fumble staying in his lane is, for an instant, is forgotten. There’s like a stutter step that happens to the whole team.

I was thinking the same thing. We actually see this a lot. DeSean Jackson used to do this way too much. But it does allow an extra two seconds for the entire field to flood to one direction, which can easily open up gateways.
