Good insights Nick, shiny object syndrome is very real in this industry. There is literally new tools dropping every day, and trying to learn all of them actually is a form of attempting to compete with the AI, which we obviously don't want to do. As an automation specialist, you especially have to have this locked in, because your job is to explain to a business owner how AI can help them, and they likely are listening, because they're lost in the sea of shining objects. You can't expect to fix there problem of confusion and direction in the AI space if you haven't solved this problem for yourself. Just my thoughts, great video man.

Excellent video Nick, you’ve gained a subscriber. I’m blessed to have organic demand for my services, already being in business automation and process improvement. A 6 month project was long enough for ai agents to slip totally under my radar. Discovered it a week ago and my mind is EXPLODING with all the potential use cases. 2 months to finish my current obligations then I have a long list of things I’m going to build for people :)

Nick, can you describe the logistics behind how you sell these automations to companies? For example, are you setting them up with their own make or n8n account, moving your automation into their account on their billing? Or are you building their automations in your account and passing the billing onto them? Love your content. You've encouraged me to start my own business!
@jeffreynsng5 күн бұрын
You cannot do in yours. The best and only way is have them have their own account

Loved the section on 'shiny object syndrome' - it's so tempting to get pulled into this when you're operating in this business, but it's such solid advice to persist just as the results are starting to show... thanks Nick (you're diamond drawings need work but your KZbin channel has been amazing for me!)

I'm new to n8n and one thing that's very difficult to find in tutorials is how to control the chat. How to set timeouts, set a maximum number of messages, have a specific thing done if there is a specific input, set checkboxes in the chat etc... in short, everyone talks about how to set up a bot but few talk about how to have full control over user actions. Have you made any videos about it?

The issue of selling without knowledge, if you manage to secure a deal that you undervalue and then can't deliver as you've misqouted then you're in more trouble than it taking a bit longer to secure a client. Plucking numbers out of the air is as dangerous as another human condition creeps in, quoting low to win the deal. But, a quote from a group the other night also rings true, you can't have imposter syndrome at this point in this industry as it's so new just by paying attention you're already more informed than 90% of the population.

Cold E-Mails are illegal in the EU, unfortunately.
@HaraldontheMoon6 күн бұрын
Same for cold calls. Nowadays you have “I want to be called” registers instead of “don’t call me registers”. And guess how large these “call me” registers are. Next to that my experience is that customers are not interested in HOW I help them solve their problem and IF I am actually using AI automation. As long as I solve their problem in a cost-effective way.
@ArizeOW5 күн бұрын
@@HaraldontheMoon I am not really sure about other countries, but cold calling businesses is actually legal in Germany. You are just not allowed to call private numbers.
@victoriadedicova5 күн бұрын
So set up your business in Germany unless you know people IP, you don't know where their email is located. @@ArizeOW
@HaraldontheMoon5 күн бұрын
@@ArizeOW it’s different per EU country, whereas mostly it’s not allowed when the person has opted out. Here in the Netherlands, consent is required, unless you’ve received the contact details from the business for commercial purposes or there’s a prior relationship with the customer. In Germany, generally, it is not allowed without consent, except when there is “presumed consent”, i.e. when you have a solid reason to believe that the product or service you promote is of interest to your contact and that the person being called can be presumed to currently agree to be contacted via phone.

You see a lot of people spend money to get the ball rolling in this venture, then bail before they've given themselves the chance to earn it back. Like it's some sort of slot machine. Yeah, I mean it sucks not being good at stuff right away - but what a waste.
