@Ben-ql6hc
@Ben-ql6hc 3 жыл бұрын
Definitely 4 times man, especially with your football training. I started out doing 3-4 days a week for a good six months and now I do 3 days on 1 day off repeat which works really well. If you’re a beginner it definitely isn’t necessary to lift weights 6 days a week
@barackobama9457
@barackobama9457 3 жыл бұрын
@@Ben-ql6hc To add to that, if you're a beginner who doesn't play a sport I would say it's necessary to work 6 days a week but this guy plays football. (Are you talking about actual football/soccer or American football? Either way both very cardio heavy sports and American football focuses on muscles a lot more than soccer.) So you're right about that.
@Ben-ql6hc
@Ben-ql6hc 3 жыл бұрын
@@barackobama9457 i dont think it is necessary because you can still makes gains working out 3-4 times a week, but once you've trained for a while its fair enough. I've noticed that 3 days on 1 day off repeat is the best because doing 6 days in a row can lead to being burnt out, but it's really about what works for you.

I agree with everything here except the part about the 'wrong calories'. Any type of food no matter how bad it is, will not go to your fat if it fits in your daily calorie maintenance, fat is in simple terms backup energy and there is no reason for the body to store it as fat immediately if it still needs those calories to function, it'll just function better or worse depending on the source of those calories.

Facts, I’ve been cheating here and there. Still maintain the same weight but have grown in muscle size. Also lifts have improved. Whenever I cheat I tend to go for the meal which contains high protein. And with cheating I mean McDonalds meals, not snacking on chocolate or candy.

Makes no sense bro. So you think that if you are 500 calories of candy and 500 calories of a chicken salad, they will have the same effect on the body? I used to think the same way, but calories in, calories out is one of the biggest lies ever. Even from a non scientific perspective, you will perform better in the gym when you eat good foods, which will increase gains. From a scientific perspective, look into Robert Ludwigs work. All calories are not the same

Do you know an easy way to know how much calories you need for that particular day? I've tried one of those calculators but I don't know my activity level each day and it can vary greatly by a difference of upto several hundred calories. And it's not like I could take the average of a week either because how much activity I do outside of the gym is completely different day to day, week to week and depends on a number of unpredictable factors. A 250 calorie surplus would then be really hard to estimate if not impossible to get right. I've tried weighing myself to keep track but my weight fluctuates by upto 3 kg in the course of a day so it's also impossible to track the miniscule 0.3 kg increase per week I should be aiming for. I'm afraid to eat too little to make progress but also too much leading to more body fat. But given these uncertainties I listed above, how the hell do I know exactly the amount I should eat? Increasing the amount of calories isn't hard if I give in the effort to track them, but it's getting the right amount that's the tricky part.
