lol just practice or watch my videos on why you r not sub 40 with roux
@jbaru12116 жыл бұрын
Yea I just got back into cubing to pass some boredom. It takes me anywhere from 13-20secs total to make both blocks. Generally depends on the scramble. Sometimes requires more moves to complete each block and I have occasions where I have to stop and look for an edge or corner piece even though I was already trying to look ahead. Sometimes the look ahead is successful and I see the pieces but I don't think I'm building the blocks as efficiently as possible. I'm not color neutral either other than having yellow and white on right or left/orange on top

thank you - after a week of doing fb with eyes closed I now average around 7 moves per FB. Now that I am learning 1 look cmll, I am starting to average around mid 20's (when i get any U, H, or Pi case) Although I am making progress, I fear that following my completion of memorizing CMLLs that I will be stuck with my SB as my slowest point.
@jbaru12116 жыл бұрын
I average 30-35. Inspection is really annoying and ends up confusing me. It's also probably a reason I won't get much faster. Can't envision where each piece will be, but I do spot the pieces prior to making the block so I have a general idea on where they might be

I used Cstimer settings so i can time every step i did in roux, than i compared to the times you recomended: 4/6/4/6 after that i opened the notepad and started to note the steps i did good in 5 solves, thats the result: FB:2/5 SB:0/5 CMLL:4/5 LSE:3/5 That result shocked me, i never considered learning SB too deep and now i know i should give it more importance. Your videos really helped me, hope to get sub-20 soon
@jynxx19978 жыл бұрын
How crucial is color neutrality? so far, I use red in front and yellow on top.
@Kian_Mansour8 жыл бұрын
Colour neutrality is very important. Eventually, first block will become the most difficult step of the solve, so having multiple options to consider is highly beneficial. There will be so many scrambles where the 1 block you start on will be difficult, so being CN gives you so many more opportunities for a straightforward block. I used to do just 1 colour, but I quickly realised that doing more than that is quite important. I switched to 2 blocks, then 4 blocks, then 8 blocks. Start by learning orange front yellow top. This is the easiest to do first because you're building the same blocks, except that first block and second block are switched. Good luck!
@aravindhkumar7381Ай бұрын
I'll do my first block under 5 seconds and practised to do L10P in 15 seconds but second block alone is taking 20 seconds ...( just 4 months into cubing )...need to practise inspection prior solve and bit of SB influence or look ahead . Ive never got easy scramble to do simultaneous pairing.

Not at the point where I am trying to be sub 20 yet, but I have been running into an issue that maybe could be discussed: Often I will have a situation that looks like it can be solved very efficiently and I spend time thinking about how this can be done. I spend so much time that my solve ends up being slower rather than faster, even when I do find a really efficient sequence. Is this a common problem? If so, is there a solution?
@Kian_Mansour8 жыл бұрын
Eventually, that same sequence or case will be very familiar to you and you will be able to do it efficiently and quickly. The only solutions are to practise and maybe do some slow solves.
@tuerda8 жыл бұрын
So if there is an efficient way that takes some thought and an obvious but inefficient way I should just accept a slower solve time and find the efficient way? This suits me :-)

I'm new to roux, if you're ever trying to make a more beginner video for shitters I can send a bad solve in for you to criticize.

+PenguinsDontFly you did a really nice job explaining everything and I learned that my efficiency is good but I need to start looking ahead more.

2*3*1 blocks is not that difficult however the real challenge lies in last step LSE

+PenguinsDontFly I really hate that COLL also as a CFOP user I tried that alg you use but sadly it doesn't preserve EO :/

im attempting to switch to roux ( i commented about my big cube and oh problem earlier) and i did a few solves to see my efficiency and what i should improve at, i averaged 12 moves for FB 20 for SB 20 for 2 look cmll( i know a few coll) and 18 for LSE. i also did a phased ao5 and i averaged mid 3 for Fb low 8 for Sb low 3 for cmll and 7 for LSE, i feel like my lookahead is ok but i have a hard time tracking the 1 edge for second block during Fb and have a fairly large pause in between,i know my effiency is bad and for Lse i have a REALLY hard time on 4c, because i cant recognize the 3 cycle and end up having to do 2 3 cycles so i just solve Df and DB instead of LR eges and then do epll on top. i know i need improvement but where should i start?
