Regarding the mother of boys thing: I have a son, and have had a hard time finding TV shows, movies, books, even clothing that embodies the way he is or the standards we have. So much of the media that is aimed toward boys is really rude. Shirts with things like, "Leave me alone, mom, I'm gaming..." Stuff like that. I remember being in a popular children's clothing store with my son when he was about six and him looking around and saying, "Why are the boys clothes so boring and mean?" Everything was black, red, brown, dark green. And it's kind of true. It's all dinosaurs riding skateboards with slices of pizza. My point is that I think we're kind of boxing kids into certain corners that aren't necessarily the healthiest. A lot of TV shows for boys have a lot of fart jokes in them, lots of snarky remarks, and just not super positive or upbeat messaging in general. But you look at shows more aimed toward girls and it's a lot of solving friendship problems, navigating your emotions, following your dreams... That kind of thing. Obviously this isn't true of every show but I do feel like we are kind of boxing kids in with the kind of media we show them. My son is really sweet, very loving, just wants to build with Legos and hang out with animals. He doesn't like things like prank shows or rude, bullying behavior. It's honestly hard to find media that has a strong male protagonist that's also a good role model. So we find books with strong female leads as well as strong male leads. The Mysterious Benedict Society is our favorite series. I want him to grow up with a great deal of respect for women and girls, and also the positive message that you can get ahead in life without being a rude jerk. It starts young, people. Teach your kids, boy and girl, to be nice human beings and then they will be much better friends and partners in life.

We all know as women how frustrating the pink tax is etc but what else...? just feels lazy and repetitive.

@@toitman2 Partnership and support. Women can do anything (for the most part lol), but we can’t do everything!! Partners use their own skills to make each other’s lives better. It’s really that easy. Companionship. Be interesting. Be funny. Be kind. Just be there. Romance. Make us feel loved and wanted and beautiful and appreciated. And we should do the same. 😊 good luck to you!

@@toitman2 hmm I’m not sure what you mean by up to the task, the task is really just to try. there are certainly societal and mental health factors that are going on right now for both men and women, but I believe that anyone who wants a relationship has the ability to try their best to be a good partner, companion, and lover. Will anyone get it perfect? No, of course not, that’s where love and patience and grace come in. Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you 🤷🏻‍♀️😌

@@toitman2 I think that depends on the woman. I personally enjoy the differences between men and women and don’t enjoy the competition between - it doesn’t feel natural. I like balance of harmony between the sexes and believe we complement eachother. There are notable strengths and differences between men and women and I value them: the feeling of protection and comfort of a resource provider, but beyond that someone with a kind heart, intelligence, humour and compatible interests is just as important - but I feel like the sentiment that men are valued for being providers and protectors is sort of old fashioned now and that people are made to feel like those things shouldn’t matter anymore? I need and value my husband for those very ‘old-fashioned’ qualities among others. As the ‘high-investment’ sex, I’m not going to lie and say those things don’t matter, because that would go against principles of sexual selection.

It just means girls can have grown up they have the option to work as well as being a mother. It’s just funny how one girls have options men become victims and now society is now horrible to boys.
