I kicked this habit by praying the Rosary everyday! I'm 28 and I struggled with this only up until less than a year ago since I was about 10 years old. My desire to participate in this filth has COMPLETELY dissipated and I feel much happier. Just the thought of doing this again absolutely disgusts me. They say if a person prays the Rosary everyday for a year, they will either quit the Rosary or quit the sin. I've been saying the Rosary every single day for less than one half of a year and it's already killed my bad habit, as well as other sins that I've been struggling with. It's a powerful WEAPON. As a counselor and Catholic: Anyone struggling with addiction, of any kind.. 1. Pray Rosary daily and do not ever stop--Do it for Life ! 2. Read the lives of the saints! 3. Perform mental prayer for at least 15 min each day. 4. If you are Catholic, go to confession weekly and receive Eucharist as often as possible if you are in a state of grace. 5. Place holy pictures in your home, Holy Family, saints, etc. 6. If you must, get rid of your computer or any device that is a temptation to sin.

I know what you mean, but trust me: the love of Christ can heal any wound, including those ones. Whenever those images are recalled, turn to prayer; the images won't persist. Changing posture also helps redirect your blood flow and defuse erections, which makes casting away those images much easier.

The memories stay in the mind but their interpretation can be altered by purification. Think about it, we have memories that later on in life we understand differently and therefore have different interior reactions to than originally. If your heart is hard you will view an erotic image with lust which signals how you view that image. But if your heart is soft when that very same image comes back to mind it will bring you sadness and repugnance because of how degrading it is for the person to have done that.

I am fighting a high level of fight with this sin. My Quarantaene started 2017 because of schizophrenia. I am now 28, actually this video came out on my birthday. Never had any forms of relationship with women( because of schizophrenia). I am going to confession every month because of this sin. It's a big struggle for me the only form of sin I struggle with from time to time. Pls Pray for me. God bless.

I actually came to an answer after writing this comment and thinking about this. A Catholics life is actually this struggle. The struggle with sin. The struggle with some sort of sin. And as the bible says: Luke 15:7: I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. I think after we die we will be rewarded for our struggle with sin. Thank you for all your prayers. I got some clarity for my problems.

If you are a parent and you’ve become less intimate with your children, find ways to grow in intimacy with them. Ive been going strong for about 4 months, it gets easier, but once in a while those near occasions of sin really try to get you. My best advice is to just say momento mori and walk away from what's causing the discomfort. Go find something to do to occupy your mind away from what you are desiring. It eventually always goes away so. At some point I figure the devil will quit trying to get me that way if I build virtue in that direction.

Take it from me: my grandpa was once a Franciscan monk, and confessed his own porn addiction to his spiritual director, who then insisted that celibacy must not have been his vocation. He left the community and then got married, bringing his broken perversions into the family, exposing his sons to porn as young as 5 years of age, two of who exposed ME to porn when I was a vulnerable teenager.

Two things that has helped me with habitual sin, even though I still struggle, is when it gets really rough and tempting make a holy hour every day for a week or force yourself into a weekly confession until the rough patch passes. I still fail from time to time but it absolutely has helped.

I always heard the acronym "HALTS" H - Hungry A - Angry L - Lonely T - Tired S - Stressed These can be triggers of why we act out. I am Catholic too and a Spiritual life is of great importance. We have to strive for a real connection with GOD and with OTHERS. If you're hungry, it could lead to acting out. If you're lonely, it could also. Etc. Hope this helps

I didnt make BLAST up. HALT is what they use in AA as boredom is less of a trigger for drinking. BLAST is what is used in pornography addiction recovery and notably put boredom and loneliness at the start because they are two of the largest triggers. I get you are under the impression that all addictions are the same and therefore think one trigger acronym is the same as the next but they really aren't.

I know the addiction to porn is terrible, from my own experience I know exactly how terrible. What I will say is that with the grace of God, you can overcome this. In my own case, it has taken a while, a divorce, and time, but with the love of God, it is possible to overcome and conquer.

I’ve been porn free for a couple weeks. I had to make a conscious decision to walk away from this sin. It helps me to look at woman as God sees them and see them for how beautiful they really are. Still struggling, but I figured out that the problem is the worst when you give in, then it’s a landslide. When I was married it caused me to no longer be attracted to my wife, and as a father of two young woman, I just want to be a better man than this.

There are so many areas of addiction out there in addition to porn, computer gaming, shopping, smoking, alcohol, drugs, food, to name a few. As a recovering alcoholic, I pray for all those struggling with addiction of any kind. Our Blessed Mother Mary, and our Heavenly Father are waiting to help us. There are great recovery programs that teach people how to get to the bottom of addiction, and address the underlying issues. Please if you want help, reach out to get that help. And don't stop trying every day, this will be a life long journey out of addiction, but it's worth it when you can look at yourself in the mirror and know that, one day at a time your life is changing. Thank you for the video and inspiration. It is a hard struggle that I fight as well. I fall and get back up. Feel guilty but blessed that GOD continues to forgive my sins and gives me Grace. I hate falling and each time I hope it’s my last but get scared to think it won’t be. However I do go longer bouts of time between falls. Not that it makes it okay but I’m getting stronger. I think of my act of contraction. I don’t want to sin only because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of hell, but because I want to love GOD so much that I can’t even think of wanting to go against His will. I also don’t wait to give the evil one the satisfaction of tempting me! Plus I’ve incorporated into my prayers to pray for the souls in purgatory that suffer for this sin that I fall to.

For anyone struggling with porn I highly recommend you take the Strive 21 program from Mattt Fradd. It definitely helped me a lot on my journey and I even met one of my best friends there. We still keep in contact and checking out. Guys, you are strong, don't let anyone tell you you can't beat down this addiction, because it is indeed possible to come out victorious. For any woman that also wants to involve into the program go ahead, there are also many women there, please don't isolate. We are humans and we all need someone, because these kinds of battles specifically can't be beaten down lonely, but with an accountability partner. I'm glad I grew up in a time when it wasn't as available to teens. Now it's as easy as turning on the kitchen faucet. I can go months at a time without it but then get into it for a few days or so as a binge. And then I'm off again. So it's still a work in progress and a struggle.

Ask God something important to you and in return - as sacrifice, doing something hard for you - promise him not watching porn and for certain time: 1, 2 or 6 months, a year. I did it 4 times and after I finished my promises those desires fall a lot, right now I think they are gone. Just not doing it because you want to obtain something more important from God. I know is silly but it works for me.

If i may add, based of my personal experience and observation, mainstream media is priming us to watch porn. Besides the normalization of sex, notice how no movies and mature tv series cannot go without a sex scene or any lewd behaviors. Even cartoons are low key doing it also.

so...how do we quit? Though I've recently stopped praying it, when i was praying the rosary everyday(for roughly 6 years) i still couldn't kick it, even though i go to DAILY adoration i still can't kick it, and on the days where i'm inspired to spend more than my usual hour in adoration is when the addiction gets worse. Like, this addiction actually gets worse the more time i spend in adoration...How is there any beating this? willpower doesn't work, fleeing it doesn't work because it's still always in the back of my mind...frankly, I've had this problem for 25 years, and i'm tired of bad solutions, bad people from church who ignore the problem, well meaning and nice people like yourself who don't have good solutions...I'm just sick of everything and am becoming a bitter man who no one wants to be around.

In my opinion, this is what is happening. It’s because of your lack of faith and bitterness at God. That’s why it emerges more when you’re at adoration, because adoring God makes you secretly angry, and because your angry fantasies of revenge flood into your mind. So really those fantasies of lust originate from anger at God. So the solution for you to beating it is admitting to yourself that you’re in fact very angry at God and want revenge on him by sinning, discovering why you have these feelings of anger at God, relinquishing the satisfaction of revenge, and seeking forgiveness. perhaps many of the prayers you said were in bitter obedience to try and show God as a hypocrite and to get the satisfaction of blaming him because you outwardly do holy things when interiorly it’s not the case.

When I fast I get hungry and tired but it doesn't make me want to watch porn. Just curious how them factors contribute to watching porn or maybe everyone is different and what is a trigger for me is not for someone else? I observe the full lent fasting and want to assure people feeling hungry and tired doesn't make you want to sin.
