thanks for mentioning this i didnt know it existed, upon looking i see they use the right hand for the latching switch unfortunaly i really do prefer to use my left hand for arming, it would have been good if they got rid of both dials and put 2 latching switches because what can i use the dial for? on my dji mini 2 i use the dial for zoom and moving the gimbal, but for an fpv quad i cant really think of a single use for the dial. I would honestly prefer airmode on a latching switch as well as arming, but hey i could get used to arming with my right hand, or maby i could buy 2 and modify it to replace both dials with latching swithces, hmmm

You know there are latching push buttons under those shoulder buttons, right? If you really want something latching those are totally usable. Personally, I use claw so have my right index finger holding the right 3pos full up for armed and then flick it down to disarm. Works really well for me. I'm not sure any of these issues are really as serious as you pitch them tbh. It would be nice to be able to mount the gimbals lower in the body just because of my hand size. Though it's totally usable and as an overall Tx, it has a great amount of flexibility (more than what is needed for FPV tbh) in terms of options to use for various controls.

You know after I made this video, they updated the radio to have latching shoulder buttons. ELRS also requires a 2 Pos switch for arming. Using a 3 position switch you are giving up 2 positions.

The Zorro’s major drawback is the battery. I’m still testing it to see how much life you actually get out of it.
@JoryFPV2 жыл бұрын
@@DarrenAllatt That is my primary problem with it also. I'd be curious to know how it handles a module running at 1w. I'm assuming you'd need to plug-in an external battery, and that's a bit of a deal breaker for me. To me it's also a drawback that the ELRS version is only 250mw. I'm sure that's what's reasonable for the internal module without a fan, and it's fine for micros, but do I really want to put a 5" with a GoPro in the air on 250mw when 1w is an option? I really wanted to like the Zorro since there are good gimbals rumored to be coming, and I'm used to higher quality gimbals than what's available on gamepad radios. They were so close to a good product. Looking forward to the review and how you think it compares to the T-Pro.

Personally, the spec chasing of "higher so it's better" is something I am working on for a video. That being said, sounds like you freestyle and fly in bando's. There was a facebook post recently where this guy flew a ELRS whoop behind 3 apartment buildings on 500mhz at 100mw and failsafed - link below. It was a crazy distance for the amount of interference and multi-pathing he would have had between his radio and the quad. I am going to be doing some testing on this concept between 250mw and 1w for ELRS. So many people are used to being burned by FRSKY that we just want to throw everything we can at the RC link. Here's that video... I think it's crazy distance for 100mw @ 500mhz on a whoop with that much interference and multi-pathing: facebook.com/100053727850424/videos/1009842019612786/

I prefer a momentary switch way over a toggle one. By software you can make a toggle one out of a momentary one, with ONE line in the special functions. But you cannot create a momentary one out of a toggle switch. I disarm my wings with a 2sec-press on a momentary switch, to absolutely avoid accidential mid flight disarm. A toggle switch is just useless for that.
@DarrenAllatt6 ай бұрын
Well, in the V2 of the T-Pro, they made it a toggle switch 😉 So, you had to put in code to make sure you are holding down the momentary switch for 2 seconds to make sure it didn’t disarm And did you know you can use the same on the toggle switch

The latching switches on the Tango 2 suck. After only a month of use, the left switch wasn’t working. I reached out to TBS, and their response was that it was probably full of dust, and I simply needed to take the entire radio apart and clean the switch. Obviously, it’s a design flaw. I had to remap the arming switch in FreedomTX, and the momentary left shoulder switch is now turtle mode, so nothing essential

I for one like the design and the layout and it seems so do many others considering they have been out of stock for months. The FPV hobby as a whole requires you to have to adjust your equipment so what is the big deal about changing a button layout to suit your liking? Mountains out of molehills! Every so called issue some KZbin FPV channels have found so far has been solved with a simple adjustment in the menu, apart from the internal ELRS version, they really dropped the ball their trying to get it out to market as fast as possible.
@DarrenAllatt2 жыл бұрын
I actually like the button layout and design, as I said earlier in the video. The implementation of the buttons is an issue. Would have been happy if one was latching the other was momentary and it was up to me to open up the radio and swap them. It's not safe to have the arming switch on a momentary button. If you accidentally bump the switch, the sticky function takes over and arms the quad, and carnage ensues. At least with a momentary button, any bump won't cause arming.
@rbFPV2 жыл бұрын
@@DarrenAllatt How is it different from accidentally bumping a latching button?

@@DarrenAllatt there's a simple solution to your "flaw" argument... Don't use either of the momentary switches for arming!! You don't have to!!! Use one of the 3 pos switches. Save the momentary switches for beeper and turtle mode, both of which would work great for momentary uses. Or just rip the damn buttons off the radio if you're so offended by them. But in this case I don't think we need to throw jumper under the bus, call their product broken or flawed, or start demanding recalls (I didn't say you did that, but I saw a comment here to that effect) just because they made a design choice to add 2 momentary switches where other radios have 2 position switches.
