When I bought my notch in 87, the only people that liked the 5.0 were the owners. They were hated by many. Thirty four years later I still drive my car while getting the thumbs up instead of the middle you know what. I will never sell it because it's the best car I've ever owned. ☝️

I have a ‘87 4 cyl convertible automatic. My dad and I bought it for $1500. We live in Rhode Island so winters will rust every car out there. The guy we bought it from ONLY drove it in the summer. Zero rust. We got it appraised and the insurance company valued it at $10,000. Biggest steal ever.

I have a 92 white notch with only 90,000 miles. It’s never seen rain or snow and has ZERO rust. Fully built (all new headers and exhaust, new air intake, fuel system etc. , 17x9 chrome ponies, 245 in the front, 275 in the back both the rims and tires have never been used. Like straight out of the box put the rims in the tires and then never been put on till today. Just bought it last week for an absolute steal. Worth easily 20-30 k. Got it for 8,500 he was asking 16,500 and needed it gone that day. Will never get this lucky again. Just ordered a 4 inch cowl hood and there’s nothing else I really can do to it unless I want to buy a supercharger or change out the seats or something like that

Let me tell you, I had the chance not very long ago to buy an 87 TX dps mustang (t-boned, no title, no front clip, very rough for 300 bucks). Thought real hard, but passed on it. Anyway, I've now just recently acquired a '90 25th Anniversary LX 5.0 convertible (original red in color). The car looks great. Interior is real nice as well. I raised it up on the lift last week and Unfortunately discovered that it is very rusty underneath. Floors and rusty and yes, there appears to be rust on the frame rails too (no visible "see through" holes or anything, but it is there). I really like the car and think that it is worth saving (I'm already upset with myself about letting the dps stang get crushed, I sure as hell wouldn't want this one to endure the same fate in the future. I see a lot of TX plates on them cars in your video (I'm in TX myself). Austin. Do you know of anybody who is capable and willing to take on such a job to help save this car? Or is it even worth the trouble? I know it's a lot of money and won't be cheap, but if it's somewhat within my budget, I'm all for getting her taken care of. It's a toss up between the stang and a 69 2dr Nova that I have (also original red with rare bucket seat option and manual center console shift/ac car). I'm a Nova guy and really the ol cars but as much as I do, I still prefer the Mustang. So what do you think? Worth saving? (Estimated cost?). Know of anybody reputable in TX that could do the repairs? Let me know. Would be greatly appreciated -

Cool Video! I have a 1984 RS Capri still in the original tri-color white paint. I got the car from my dad in my early 20ies he bought the car new in 1984. My car stance wise is lowered with Centerline Scorpion rims. I have almost every suspension mod you can do and rocking a worked 347 stroker motor with a 150 hit of nitrous, super-fast. Very rare to see the foxbody Capri now-adays, very low production numbers (1984 just over 3,600 RS 5.0 cars) and unfortunately a lot of those ended up in the scrap yard. Gonna be hanging on to mine for quite some time 😁👍

Great Video, new subscriber here from Western Canada (Calgary) I was one of the guys that bought a used '92 LX 5.0 Notch because it was lighter stiffer and more affordable than a GT or a Vert. I bought my Notch from the orginal owner in May of 1994 and I am coming up on 28 years of ownership in May. I get offers from guys wanting to buy it constantly. Not selling it ever, very few of them left here. Winters were hard on these cars so to find a clean non rusted out Fox is next to impossible in the Province of Alberta anyway.

Thanks for the value update. I purchased an all original 87' Vert GT automatic a couple years ago with 87k original miles and DMV records for it. Interior is show room quality. It was a 1 owner, garage kept car that was garaged. The original paint still has shine after I 3-step buffed it. I repainted all the trim with OEM paint (including luggage rack). I had to change out the exhaust since the car sat for such a long time. It had completely rusted out. Decided to upgrade it to a catless MAC Pro Chamber with 3" flowmaster tips. I welded in Steeda Powder Coated full length sub frame connectors, put a Steeda Powder Coated Strut Tower brace in, upgraded to Powerstop Z23 drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic brake pads on the front and and new OEM drums and shoes on the back. The shocks and struts were bad so I upgraded to Billstein's. Added lowering springs. The turbine wheels were in need of some restoration, so I sanded them and applied 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of OEM wheel paint, and 3 coats of clear. Look brand new again. I've got a couple of projects left like rebuilding the rear quarter window guides with the LMR rebuild kit and replacing all the dull dim dash lights with LED bulbs. But she's nearing completion. I am so torn of whether to sell and build another project car or to keep. I don't have room to keep the fox and start another project.

Just found your channel. Great video. I subbed through both of my channels. I havent checked out any of your other videos yet. But looking forward to it. Back in early '15 I knew that it was the time to finally get into the Foxbody game. So I got myself a low milage 88 GT 5 Speed with very little mods. Owned by an older lady most of its life and has been within a few miles of where I live in Phoenix Az. Not nice paint is really the only bad thing. It got a bad paintjob about 7 years ago. But a buddy of mine just got the line on a deal on an 88GT that is a very nice nice original paint, no mods but Flowmasters and 100k miles, vert. That is stupid low money. He asked me what I thought. I just sent him this video.

New subscriber here. I purchased a clean H/C/I supercharged 5.0 5-speed 1990 coupe 2 years ago for $10,500. Yeah, it has been quite the investment!

Drove from Michigan to New Jersey the day after Easter in 2020 to get a clean ‘91 LX 5.0 5-speed in PA Emerald Green, it’s almost doubled in value in a year. From what I can find there were roughly 1000 made in 91.

100% facts i just subscribed to your channel. Video states nothing but the truth. You got love all the Fox or and Mustang so called adjuster on socia media. Most don't have a pot to p**s in. Or a window to throw it out of. But hey they do say what they feel it is worth. It ain't the late 90's or early 00's. When you could og get a real clean low mile Fox Mustang for $3500 bucks. Not them days anymore. You got to pay to play with them. Weather you like it or not.

What's your opinion on the Mexican Fox Bodies? All the 79-84 Mexican built Mustangs came with the 5.0 (even 80 and 81 models) and then in 82 through 84 they were a mix of Capri with Mustang... You think those would become interesting collector cars?

All nice cars and you are definitely right, foxes will be, are collectible. But given history on cars, especially 60s/70s muscle cars, I believe that the convertible versions will eventually be the most valuable, barring one off, special editions. Given that drop top muscle has always been popular with collectors. The old saying, "When the top goes down, the price goes up." Has been true for many decades.

The coupes definitely look better than the convertibles but there is just something about driving with the top down you just can’t get with a couple….my 2 cents.

I have a 88 vert. Put a Coyote, subframes, exhaust BUT it's an auto. Not the AOD, too much power now for that. The body has 200k but the engine is 3000k so, I'm up north so the miles will be low for a long time oh, and I put 3:73 gears in and WOW, what a difference 😁

The only convertible I do like, a fox body! Got to loose the luggage rack. Do you remember the yellow covertibles with white interiors, we always called them summer editions, don’t know what they were really called. There was a couple running around in my younger years.

My dad taught me how to drive in his 89 GT vert back in 94/95, and later my first car was an 87 LX 5.0 in 1996. Both cars are still in the family... I gave the 87 LX to my little cousin, and I inherited dad's 89 vert when he passed a couple years ago. It's definitely been a wild ride watching the demand and price skyrocket over the last few years. I've turned down many offers for both cars.

I have a 1979 Indy Pace Car I have owned since 1990, a 1990 and 1993 coupe (notchback), and a 2001 Bullitt True Blue. I am considering selling the 93 (I told my wife that I would when I bought the Bullitt), but just couldn't let it go. After seeing the prices of the notches recently, I may reconsider, but I would really miss it.
