Instead of getting a budget wheel for your ps5 I recommend the rasou1tion Steering wheel adapter. For $80 You can use the G920 on both Xbox, and playstation full compatibility for everything like it should be.

That's what I did. PS5 and a Series S. Also if you have old hard drives or SSD's and an external docking station, you can store your games there, to save money and time.

Hah i was similar but then I started to realise, everyone i speak to has either literally JUST got a Series S or had one but ended up getting a Series X. Not to knock the Series S it is fantastic but i think people enjoy it so much, it just makes them want a Series X more. In a normal world i would advise people to get an X but in this low availability world, i would say the S is a good stepping stone until you get hold of the X lol

I have been a lifelong PlayStation gamer. I had a X Box One, never used it, and eventually traded it in. Having already bought a PS5 back in November of 2020 when it launched, I decided this past Christmas to purchase a Series S, and a GamePass subscription. I have not been disappointed at all, and I have used it far more then my PS5 since I got it. I think part of that is having access to a ton of X Box games that I really wanted to try and never got around to, so my use of the console is no direct statement about my feelings towards the PS5, I still love my PS5. So take it from a lifelong PlayStation gamer, the Series S is truly a must have.

I just got a series S for my Fiancée and she absolutely loves it. I bought a 3 month gamepass key for £21 ($30) on a key selling site, and we can both use the sub simultaneously on PC/Xbox. She has access to something like 300+ games, including many new releases, and for £7 per month with a start-up cost of £250, it really can't be beaten on value. You can always let your son play the PS exclusives on your console (because they don't last long) and switch over to the Xbox to play the MS exclusives coming up! Best of both worlds.

Anything can happen in that amount of time, and she might switch to primarily playing on PC/PS in the future depending on what games she is interested in. Only subbing for 3 months at £7 per month (gamepass ultimate) means I can stop subbing when she is playing other stuff.

I got a PS5 launch day. Waiting on the Xbox. Ended up getting the Halo Series X. Now I honestly use the Series X as my main console and use the PS5 for exclusives. Game Pass has really been great. Just finished Deaths Door and loved it. Wouldn’t have played it if it wasn’t on Game Pass.

I shop at Best Buy all the time but my local navy exchange has the S in stock. Over a dozen. No sales tax is a nice plus. They also have the pink dual sense controller. That took me by surprise since the PlayStation direct website states local retailers get it later. I guess the military exchanges get advanced stock. I scored that wheel from Amazon for my PS5 in August and it was on sale for a hundred off. It’s sweet!

Lost me when you recommend against physical disk. I *do not* want an all digital future. Especially since moral busybodies are running around trying to get people banned from console use. Think about it. If you're banned, you loose access to your whole digital library. That's unjust. I’d get it, except I play Apex Legends competitively, and I need every drop of FPS/other performance I can get out of the next gen consoles. I currently play on a Xbox One S, and I know the Series S would be miles upon miles better than what I am working with now, but I think I need the Series X for the level of competitive play I am trying to reach. But what do you think, do you think the Series S is powerful enough to compete against other players using a Series X and or a high end PC? Or do you think I should just stick it out and get an Xbox Series X like I originally planned? Cuz from what I can tell, you can’t have enough performance for Apex Legends lmao 🤣

Hey! It's a tough one because it completely depends on your display (resolution, screen size, refresh rate, monitor/tv, response time). Obviously a series X/S will never be able to truly compete against PC players with 1080p 360hz monitors and a low latency setup, but you should be able to compete against other console players (and average PC players) on a series S after the next-gen apex update. As long as you play on a 120hz+ 1080p/1440p monitor rather than a 4k 120hz tv that is (preferably on mouse and keyboard). Playing on a 4K TV using the series S can introduce blur in some titles, but TVs aren't really aimed at competitive gamers anyway because they are too big. Seeing as you seem quite serious about your competitive play, you might want to consider upgrading to PC in a couple of years when the prices come down again, but gaming on a series S with a 120hz+ 1080p/1440p monitor would be a solid option for you before then. TN panel monitors are best for competitive FPS games because they have lightning fast response times, even though the colours aren't quite as good as IPS. You should also look for monitors with Freesync capability for smoother gameplay.
