Hello, I love how open your kitchen is and that you have a great view of outside. Also, I have the same freezer as you do and I have been buying meat and etc...such a great unit.

Thank you! The kitchen/living room is where we spend most of our time indoors, so we wanted it as open and airy as we could make it. It's always nice having plenty of food just a few steps away:)

I have one of those stools and it’s great. The best part is you can push yourself up from the kneeling position when there is nothing to hang onto.

I'm planning my elderberries today. Sitting here trying to figure out where in my urban yard they should go. It's going to be awhile before I get fruit but I will have them very local at some point!

Elderberry jelly is my absolute favorite. My daughter keeps an eye out for it for me. Hard to find but worth it😊

We do not have alarms but that is a good idea for us to think about! One of us is in kitchen at least once a day so we do keep somewhat of an eye on them. Thanks for the comment though! It is something to think about.

Wondering why you have to lime to grow grass...3 trays of elderberries looked like hardly any in that jar...enjoyed ❤ Bonnie

I just put some where I had cleared a lot of cedar trees. That many cedar trees for 30+ years makes the soil rather acidic. It helps stabilize the soil PH and helps the natural grasses grow back quicker. It does take a lot of elderberries to make much of anything. We still have some from last year and this is just enough to get us thru the cold/flu season. We actually have been picking some here and there and throwing over to the chickens for some good immune health. Thanks for your input!
