What is Your Perfect Saturday?
Asking this question gives you a huge insight into what your perfect elopement day can look like. So if you say "oh we have this amazing hike in our area that leads this beautiful waterfall" or "We just love being in the mountains on our day off", "we always go mountain biking in the summer or skiing in the winter and we just love being a part of the mountain culture. Maybe your perfect Saturday is going to the beach on a sunny day with your books and hanging out just doing nothing by the water. Odds are, when I ask this question, the answer isn't normally "we like to tell each other how much we love each other and take photos for an hour." So, go one step deeper and while telling each other how much you love each other is really important on your elopement day, try to pair it with another activity you enjoy doing on your date nights :)
Plan to Do What You Love!
Plan your day around the perfect stuff that you love to do together. If you love to paddleboard, make paddle boarding part of your elopement day. Go beyond thinking of an elopement as an hour and some photo shoots. As a filmmaker and photographer, the best films and the best photos are ones where couples are actually like doing stuff on their elopement day. So if you want a great elopement experience, make it really true to who you are as couple.
Full day elopements may take just a little bit more planning. They may take some time to ask your partner what you want the day to be about, but isn't that like what your engagement period is all about? It's about getting to know each other on that deeper level. Planning doesn't have to be stressful! I totally don't think it should be! I think it'd be fun enough thinking "oh my gosh we have a day to do whatever we want, what are we gonna do?!
