If you want to record drums, and have the budget, yes X32 is nice. If not, the cheapest option is the 16 input 8 output Tascam US1608 (with some mics and mic stands, of course, a Computer & DAW and at least pair of headphones).

Although of course you may record drums only with less than 16 input interface, maybe 8, 4 or even 2 or 1 can be done too, with more limited methods LOL

It connects the same as a full-size x32. Via USB. Need to install the x32 driver on your pc first.

X32 rack is OK as long as you know you are not getting 32 pre-amps/ XLR inputs. Presonus SL32R has 32 XLR inputs, it has smaller foot print and routing is so straight forward. I recommend that for those requiring a high channel count. One more thing, if you connects to a my daw you can access all you fave plugins with very little latency. Check it out

I ordered two brand new Presonus SL32R from different suppliers and both of them had noise and main output issue. Also, the X32 allows to use mixes as sidechain where the presonus does not (useful for ducking ambiance mic with iem). So to me, the X32 is much more reliable than the Presonus and that's a shame.
