Beagles were bred for hunting and their noses make them fantastic hunters! My Beagle, her name is Dixie, is a master hunter! She chases squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, deer, turkeys and she even points at some of them! I have taken her hunting with me and she has chased down birds that have been wing shot, but still had the ability to run far and wide! I love my Beagle!

There are organizations that will do genetic screenings for dogs. But being pure bred or not doesn't stop them from being the most devoted, adorable and loving of companions. Whoever said being a mixed breed was bad is someone you should not listen to.
