I'm sorry people made comments about your weight. That's messed up. I also want to say that I really respect you bringing up how it made you feel. It takes courage to be that honest, but it is also very helpful to everyone around you to see and hear this. For what it's worth; I think you look very nice. I loved this video and I learned a lot from it. Eating the same every day was holding me back from mealprep. I will definitely give this a shot. Thank you!

So proud of you Kevin for all your hard work! Please don't let the trolls and haters get under your skin. I agree that it takes a ton of courage to express your feelings to others, especially complete strangers. I'm also struggling with weight issues and your videos are very inspiring and useful and educational for me. Also, please don't use BetterHelp. In my honest opinion, it drained my wallet and left me feeling worse than I felt before trying it. I'm not trying to tell people what to do but it's just a cautionary tale. Also, I hate roommates, but I would totally want you as a roommate so you can prep all this stuff and teach me how to do it! 😊❤👍🏼😎💜😃🙌

Hey Kwoowk, I hope you're feeling better man, it sucks that people feel the right to be so awful towards others through the anonymity of online interactions (or even without that tbh). I know it's hard to ignore them so try to keep in mind they don't have your best interests at heart and they'll never be satisfied because their comments are made to force their egos onto you. It doesn't matter what you do, they'll just comment on something else. It's nasty behavior but I feel recognizing this helps me move past the negativity sooner.

Did something similar to this when I was trying to lose weight and had started a new job. Would come home from food shopping and immediately wash all the produce and start cutting and blanching. I also did the poached chicken or cooked down some ground beef. For me half the battle of losing weight is reducing the amount of decisions I need to make about what to eat. If I have all the components ready and I know calorie counts it’s simple and I can still be creative in the kitchen while throwing together a salad for lunch or making dinner in 15 min with minimal clean up. My similar meal prep would take me about 2 hours. I’m terrified of my mandolin. Hope that heals well and quickly. ❤ Jumped on this video from the instachat thingy but originally found you here.

Even if he were, it's not appropriate. The myth of ppl being obese because they just eat too much/don't take care of themselves enough is extremely hurtful. Studies have proven the vast majority of the time obesity is a symptom of a much bigger issue at hand, may it be health-related like an undiagnosed chronic problem or due to socio-economic factors such as food deserts. Ppl should be more considerate of others instead of pointing their finger at them.

For the chicken breasts (or any poultry for that matter) an alternative is to brine the meat in the fridge for a few hours. A fully grown turkey will take a day, but it'll always stay juicy. You can even flavor your brine based on the type of meal you wanna make. Cloves, dried orange peels and thyme is a classic.

You can leave 2-day worth of rice in the fridge and keep the rest of the freshly cooked rice in the freezer. The Japanese have been doing it this way forever (search how Japanese keep rice in the freezer on YT if you may) and I do it on a regular basis too - when you microwave the frozen rice, it tastes pretty much the same as it's freshly cooked :)

I worked in a French restaurant here in London, and commented that if someone ate there every day, they'd probably get scurvy. The reason being that everything is prepped well in advance, for example a batch of different lettuces etc. for mixed salad lasts 3 days, but you never wait until it's finished to cut the next batch, when the old batch is halfway down you cut the next batch...so even if you are getting the first of the ''new batch'' it's been sitting 2 days in the back fridge, cut, and if you're getting the last it was cut 5 days ago, so bye bye vitamins. I don't work in restaurants any more but I don't want to cook from scratch every evening, and no way am I eating standard ready meals or getting takeaways. So for example yesterday I was off, I bought 4 nice big pork shoulder chops and other ingredients. Last night I cut them up, separated into 2 batches of 2 chops each, chopped an onion and separated into 2, and so on, so at the same time I made double portions each of pork goulash, and Zuricher Geschnetzeltes (pork & mushrooms in white wine and cream sauce). Then tonight after work I only have to boil potatoes or pasta (actually it's Schupfnudeln from Lidl tonight) and reheat the portion of goulash left over, same for the next 2 days with the Geschnetzeltes. The advantage of stews, curries etc is that they keep for a few days no problem and the flavour improves over the coming days. On the 5th day I'll eat fish, actually maatjes herring (from the Polish shop, I'm in the UK) probably with baby potatoes and salad, just got to boil the potatoes. But I do have eclectic tastes, I like Northern and Central European food more than Mediterranean, also I cookJapanese and Korean, South African, and Surinamese (because I lived over 10 years in NL and miss it). But yeah I love your chicken salad. Also if you chop and marinade chicken/fish ahead of time it will keep a few days and improve in flavour, and you can just quickly cook a portion in the evening. The only ready meals, or main components of them, which I find any good here in the UK are either curries (because they don't chuck artificial preservatives in, the spices do the job), or stuff I buy from the local Balkan shop (ex-Yugo not Romanian/Bulgarian) or Polish shop. Things like jars of stuffed cabbage in sauce'; stuffed peppers in sauce; pork and beans, or goulash. Another top tip for a quick pasta sauce as most are crap in places like the UK and Netherlands: if you have a Turkish or Balkan shop nearby look for Ajvar, a puree of peppers and aubergine, bright orange in colour, it's relatively inexpensive and you can use it like pesto, but a bit more heavy-handed. I chuck it in tinned goulash to liven it up too.

Dont let internet folks bring you down...some people just need that to feel better about themselves. Also im meal prepping like this for years...but i often freeze the prepped things. It takes a bit from the taste sometimes, but it allows you to not only get stuff done quicker, but also you can save money because you can by reduced stuff or bigger bags. Especially when you live alone, that's so important. I even have a large bag with pizza in parts, with self made frozen doe, tomate sauce, mushrooms and salami. For onions i reccomend large ice cube tray (with a lid!!) and a blender.

Hey, sorry about the haters, especially as you look great, especially recently. Also, as you live in the Netherlands, I can heavily recommend getting your tomatoes from Turkish stores or farmers markets. The quality of the AH tomatoes is abysmal but it's mostly because of how they're transported and stored, and Turkish stores tend to treat them a lot better, as do farmer markets.

After you poach your chicken in water, don't waste that chickeny water. Cook some spaghetti in it, and when it finishes, rinse under cold water to stop the cooking and toss with a little oil so it won't stick. Then you can store that in a container as well. It's easy to toss in some of your veggies, some shredded chicken (if you don't use it all in a chicken salad), some sort of sauce and some parmesan for a quick pasta meal.

Those dry broccoli 🥦 and chicken breast 🍗 are “functional “ meals. Bodybuilders use that structure to control calories, sodium, and other variables to achieve a certain “shredded/ dry” physique. You can’t use that as comparison or an example for “non-bodybuilders” or competitors. Just being prepared and creative with your meals can convey the message to your audience. No need for shaming bodybuilding meals 😉

As a chef and former personal trainer: id rather just train hard, feel good about it, and eat with little restriction. I’d rather lift, train Muay Thai, hike, walk, work on mobility and still enjoy what i do for a living and eat good. I’d really recommend slowly ramping up your activity. More than physical, your mental will change.

I also have a chicken 'trick.' Brown the chicken in a pan, then poach it in the oven in chicken stock until done. It stays very juicy, plus you get the extra flavor from the pan. You can also use the leftover liquid to make the most amazing gravy ever. That's my secret to super chicken pot pie.

about the meal prepping and eating the same food (im only one minute in the video) you can make a pretty delicious fopod with just pasta, peas and chicken and the right spices and just eat that every single day and enjoy it, the secret lies in good spices and the right cooking techniques (in my opinion)

@Monsoon You're eating the same food every day with good spices. Prepping components to change up meals is the way to go.

You can even cook your dried beans in 30 minutes with the pressure cooker - saving a ton of money. Also does a good job with white rice. Love your content fuck those haters.

Why is it so relatable that when stuff goes wrong, like cutting off your fingertip 😬, can totally demotivate us so much? 😅🙈 Same goes for the clean up afterwards 🙈

Brown rice and bread make a great difference. They have the dietary fibre and vitamins still in them. White rice are stripped off of them.

Brown bread is white bread with coloring, you should go for whole wheat (volkoren) . As for rice, Brown rice contains anti nutrient phytic acid so if you're not going through the correct process of preperaring it (which most people don't do) then it's not necessarily better than white.. also Brown is highr in arsenic

if you don't want to use mayo because of the calories, I found recipes for making a substitute out of silken tofu. It works pretty well.

Keep up the journey of improving your self, and don't listen to bad comments like that, i know it may be hard, but tjust think about all the people that actually support you. The haters are just people who feed on someone's feeling of sadness, but deep down they are just raged little dudes who have their own problems, so they want to bring others to the pit they are in.

People have no place making comment about your body shape. Don't let this kind of behavior take a hold on you please. You've always been a personal source of culinary inspiration and kind demeanor in a media of over-the-top persona and lookatme wannabe. Take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear you get such awful comments! Your content is so positive! Also about brown rice, it’s a more complex carb so it can keep you full for longer and prevent blood sugar from spiking as quickly as white rice.

Thx for the video. However, rice and pasta are dangerous in batch cooking. Bacillus cereus (bacteria) can grow even in cool temperatures, and so rice/pasta can get toxic after just 24 hours of cooking them. When batch cooking, you should always cook them right before eating, and never further than the day before.
