I've been living in NYC as an 18 year old for 3 weeks now. It's been a crazy adventure 😂 coming from a small town in Texas. I agree with Brett I do sometimes feel depressed and lonely especially when you knew no one coming in to the city but when I feel like that I just go outside and try to get involved and talk to people. You'd be surprised how alot of new Yorkers are open to conversation.

I’m from LA and want to move to NY after college. I’ve been there many times and know the city pretty well but I’m just worried about moving there without a job set in place relating to my major. Do you think I could find a job before I moved somehow?

If you cant find a job for what it is you do, get a business license and make it available for others :) I took an entrepreneur internship (I am still currently in it) and I learned that america is full of innovation. Anything is possible!

Most people that say they're moving to CA are met with the famous "don't come,we're full" comments. I'm from NYC. Born here. My advice if you wanna move here? Come and take a look for yourself. 65.2 million did last year. Don't listen to people who say otherwise about it. What may not be easy for one,may be approached differently and may come out with a smoother outcome. We're not "over-packed" like LA. It is a bit expensive but it can be done. Also check out Brooklyn or Queens if Manhattan is super expensive for a small studio. Come and check it out. Gotta try and see how it is. Good luck to all the future NYC residents.
