I saw that video from the other person about saying to skip generations. I thought why would anyone skip a generation....you need every hero for different march cues and there is a hero team for different aspects of the game. You can never have enough heros.

If you upgrade Alonso till 4 star, he will be useful in Arena till gen 4. But Alonso is not useful in expedition battle after gen 3 If you are planning to be strong in Arena, you can upgrade him

If you cannot make 3 star in the starting, make as many star as you can do and slowly increase later. But don't fully leave any hero or don't keep very low star hearing some misleading information. Having low number of heroes will make trouble in certain events. Take love

Cool video overall, but you made one huge mistake - for reinforcing allies in Crazy Joe, you DONT need to have 3 good heroes for every march, since home defenders heroes on barricade give %bonuses, they are basically the rally captain; and you as reinforcements are "joining the rally", so in reality same rules as when defending fortress etc applies, only first skill of first hero matter, so send someone with good defensive skill, or at least some offensive skill and the rest dont matter, certainly not to an extent as you describe it in the video.
