I can tell you this I used to have bowel movements once every two days (this was for years) if I was lucky. When I started drinking alkaline water (kept the same exact diet) I started to have bowel movements once per day which to me was a massive change. After a few weeks I started to have multiple bowel movements per day (nothing iregular so don't assume it was irregular or anything like that). I got to the point where I would eat a meal and after a while I would go to the bathroom. This made a HUGE change in my life. I used to be somewhat constipated and just felt constantly bloated and heavy. I honestly cannot understate just how much better I have felt since going from 1 bowel movement every 2 days to multiple per day. This has been the case for the past 4 years. I can directly attribute that to my change in water since I did not change my diet at all one bit or did anything out of my normal routine. So yea you might be right Dr. Berg but in my personal case it helped me out a lot and can't see myself going back.

I've long rejected the idea of messing with the strong acidity of the stomach. Dr. Berg! You know I love you. I used to come to your seminars at the DC ORG and I love your messages. I will say that I am a huge fan of KANGEN ALKALIZED WATER from ENAGIC and it has improved my energy, skin, teeth and overall well-being. you are absolutely correct on everything you said about Enagic machine. We love every kind of water it produces. I did fasting in the past but it was the first time I fasted while using Kangen water and my and my husband energy and mind clarity were out the roof. We could have gone 1 or two days more. My pee pH is 6 (I was recently tested) and I’ve been drinking kangen water for over a year. A proper distributor should tell you to not drink the water 1 hour before a meal and 30min after, so the stomach can produce its acid for digestion. You can still drink a lower level of pH since the machine has from 7 to 9.5 pH levels. And the amout of antioxidants it has is very worth it. I haven’t gotten sick not even once since I got it… I believe it is what the pharmaceutic industry fears the most 😉

Most people do not know that it's not stomach acids that digest your food. It's enzymes. Also, water has no calories and so it doesn't trigger digestion or reduce the stomach acids at all. It just goes straight through for the most part. So anyone saying that to drink alkaline ionized water is bad for the stomach doesn't know what they're talking about.

The Pepsin enzyme used to digest protein is deactivated on contact with anything with a PH of 8.5ish to 8.8. So yes it is possible to disrupt the digestive system by upsetting the acid/alkaline balance.

The TEMPERATURE of the water may change it but it had nothing to do with the alkalinity of the water. Reverse osmosis water not only provides all the minerals that most water is missing nowadays but the molecular structure is also 10x smaller than average water molecules to make absorption way better. The conception he is using is the same concept people try to argue with when it comes to eating hybrid fruits and veggies. It matters NOT if man constructed a different way to get the SAME thing or better. That's where you get the word "bioavailability" from.

4everPhire22 I don’t think you understand the chemistry or physiology behind all of this. I’ll just note two things you said. “Acid is acid no matter how much passes through.” This is rediculous. It’s not like combining oil and water. Mixing a basic fluid into an acidic solution always affects the pH of the solution. The hydroxide ions from the Alkaline water interact with the hydronium molecules in the acid, removing one of the hydrogen atoms to form a water molecule. This increases the overall pH as the concentration of hydronium decreases. Also, “the molecular structure is also 10x smaller than average water molecules...” This is just wrong. The size of a molecule is determined by the atomic mass of the composing atoms as well as the strength of the bonds between and within those atoms. The pressure created through reverse osmosis does very little to compress these molecules. Do you think water molecules are these inflated sacks of atoms that miraculously minimize through diffusion? There isn’t any validity in your argument that I can see.

The fact that this type of water is used in medical facilities in Japan to speed the healing process and, from my own experience, helps heal and slowly increase the pH levels of blood cells over a period of time causing an increased oxygenated effect? There's plenty of studies to prove this point. I know from having Lupus the effects of it. Being I stopped taking my medication for a month to notice the difference in energy etc.

Thank you for your explanation on this. One key point I think you need to emphasize between chemically altered alkaline water and electrically altered alkaline water is the alkalinity. Kangen Water, aka, Electrolyzed Reduced Water is not a buffer and has a very low alkalinity, while chemically altered alkaline water that you find on the shelves has a much higher alkalinity and therefore the ability to change the pH in our bodies. Putting this into perspective, stoichiometrically, you would have to drink over 158 gallons of Kangen water to get the same effect as 1 teaspoon of baking soda. Said differently, it would take over 2,600 gallons of Kangen Water at a pH of 10 to neutralize just 1 liter of stomach acid at a pH of zero.

It literally looks like a clear Plex box that you can see layers of different granules of minerals so you see this different colors of the mineral layers. Too much alkalinity is not good. pH of 9 is bad for you. Max should be 8. Also you can drink water with 2 or 3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in the morning to help make sure your stomach is a lower oh. For cancer urine pH should be 7.5 up to 8.

I am an engineer and you are totally wrong. Adding chemicals such as minerals to make the water alkaline eventually will cause build up in your system, your idea is totally incorrect. There were ideas cruising over the Internet for a while that using baking soda everyday is suppose to be good for you. I don't think so. One needs to read more about what is the difference between alkaline vice alkalized reduced water!!! to understand it. Enagic machine unlike reverse osmosis , distilled water and similar systems removes all naturally occurring minerals while Enagic machine leaves them in filtrating only chlorine and other harmful chemicals and microorganisms in, ionizes water molecules which means breaking the larger molecules of water into smaller ones thus making them much more available, due to their hexagonal shape and smaller size to be absorbed by the body; Hydrating the body, delivering oxygen and nutrients. On it's way out of the cells, water carries toxic material which with the help kidneys as well as liver and sweat glands, is removed outside of the body. The Enagic machine, of course on much smaller scale, does exactly what bolt of lightning when it strikes body of water such as lake, river or ocean. I've been drinking alkaline water from a machine for several years. There is a PH setting on the machine. I find that 8.5 is perfect for me. I absorb the water much better at this level and feel better. IMO alkalinity levels in the water can be set too high with these machines. I also think diet has a huge part to play in your search for a balance alkalinity level. As with everything balance and moderation. You don't have a pH of 8,5. You would be allready dead by now. If the pH is not betweem 7,35and 7,45 it is a medical emergency. A pH of circa 7,7 is allready on deadly . If you indeed have alkalosis ( a to high body pH) you should go a doctor as fast as you can. Typical symptoms of a high body pH include muscular weakness, muscle pain, and muscle cramps

Dr Berg I have huge respect for your work in the intermittent fasting and keto diet world but there are some key elements you are missing here. Firstly we have been drinking kangen water ph8,5 for 2 years without any issues. We tested to see how many cups of kangen water we need to neutralise a cup of coffee...it takes 35 cups of Kangen water ph9.5 to neutralize a cup of coffee so I would not worry too much about a ph8.5 neutralise stomach acids. also we do NOT teach people to drink kangen water with food, always 1 hr before food. two friends of mine have drank kangen water for 10 years each, no issues what so ever. Alkaline water made artificially using added minerals has however been shown to cause calcification and deposition of these metallic minerals in the body. So why on earth would 6500 medical Drs in Japan on the medical board recognise these ionizers like the Kangen as a medical grade equipement if the water was toxic. How many pts did you test, what type of water did they drank, how much did they drank and at what pH? professor IGNATOV , professor in Biophysics who has his entire life testing water on the Bulgarian mountain did a study on Kangen Water and reported to be excellent and worth taking for cancer prevention. I think this area of alkaline water is a big topic and it needs proper researching as many people on the net haven't got a clue what they are talking about...also there's nothing mentioned here about the powerful benefits of molecular hydrogen which is found in abundance in kangen water. now we have a way to produce even more from the machine. I'd be interested to test my own urine moving forward with the various pH of the kangen water.

He is just making a point and as he has the ability to do urine test on samples. The urine should not have a ph of 9.0 period (ph level leaving the body). We all have different diets, metabolism, etc . With total homostasis of the body thriving in a ph of 7.0 - 7.3. Someone may not have the same results as you do with the same machine. Also most people are not consuming 100% of their water from elevated ph water. Just my two cents - 18 years in Western Medicine behind me I now study (Herbal Science) in Thailand & Laos!

There is no complicated logic here. I know many healthy people drink alkaline water for their health. But alkaline water has gone through some scientific process to become alkaline and "processed". So I would not drink "processed" water the way any health-conscious people do not eat "processed" food like sausage. I said the logic is non-complicated because you simply keep your diet as raw as possible. So do not bother drinking the "processed" water in the first place.

Rodi water isn't alkaline. If it was my reef tank (corals plus fish) would be dead. We have been drinking reverse osmosis/deionised water for a very long time with no bad effects. NO chlorine, no fluoride, no VOC's, etc. Ps I do run it through a re-mineralizing cartridge (crushed granite) post purification though.

Yes, it is. You are alkalinising the water by splitting the water molecules with an electrical charge not by adding minerals. You split the water molecule: H2 to the anode and O2 to the cathode. That is why you have false alkalinisation. In this case, you just raise the pH due to this splitting, not by adding other elements. Also, those elements are good for your body, rather than water + dissolved H2 and O2 in it.

If you get a cheap knock off brand, you might, because their plates inside their machine are much smaller and don't have enough electricity to do the job right. Great to know. I live in a mountain valley in SW Montana. My well is 190 feet deep. My water is mildly alkaline. Glad to know my mountain spring water is ok and not the fake stuff. Just stop by and I’ll fill you water bottles up. Lol!

Thank you for appreciating me, I appreciate you also. So how much of bottled lemon juice should I add to regular tap water to make it the right ph, until they start offering Fiji artesian spring type water in glass bottles so we don't drink too many psudoestrogens?
