I actually really like jiwoo remaining to be a "goodie 2 shoes". I think it does make him interesting because he is the eyes of the readers, we are finding out about the world through his eyes, through his perspective as we are slowling getting introduced to all the different power systems and individuals. I disagree with you when you said that Wooin is more interesting simply because his story is darker or his power. You dont need a tragedy to he considered interesting. If anything jiwoo also has a "dark" past because he grew up lonely, complelty unaware of who he is, compeltly alone. Do you know how psychologically hard that is for a kid? He was raised with the mindset thay he was a freak. So when he finally found a place to belong he was more appreciative of what he had, his powers, his friends, and so on, something the other awakened ones took for granted. despite the harsh world he lives in he doesn't allow that world to change his perspective, doesn't lower himself or his morals to the level of his enemies. And while yes at times it's really annoying, it's him. And I respect that he sticks to his guns. Why should a young boy, so frightened by the world originally suddenly be ok with violence and death? He is kind and pure with a genuine love for the world around him and his powers. He finally began to accept what he is and is genuinely excited about learning about who he us. In a world so stuck in power trips and the misuse of power, jiwoo's good nature is like a breath of fresh air, like cold water after years in a desert. His outlook on like is contagious and you can't help but love this endearing boy in front of you. I'm happy that he began from the bottom and we gradually saw him progress. And his interactions with the other awakened ones is incredible because you see all these hardened, weathered warriors just melt next to him. My only complaint recently is that it feels like he's growing too quickly but that's more the fault of the author.
