Why You Should WAIT To Get A Fiberglass Pool!! | Visionary Weekly - EP 03

Күн бұрын

This week, we finished installing our last fiberglass pool as a company.
The pool was built out of level, not square, and also had sag points in the pool wall.
When it comes to quality control, Fiberglass has really become like rolling the dice.
When manufacturers pump out products so fast (they even let the pools cure during transit) - you are bound to have a decrease in Q.C.
We managed to get this pool looking great, but it cost us a lot more time and money to do so.
We recommend waiting until the extreme wait times are over so manufacturers don't feel the pressure to pump out pools at an insane rate.

If you add tile before the coping, you can create a level bond beam with the top of the tile. The steps or benches can sag under there own weight and need support. Great job, looks great completed.

@@rinkevichjm that's not per manufacturer spec. The grade should be pre determined and set before craning the pool in. Minor adjustments (up to 1/2 inch) are ok to make, but anything more is risking hairline cracks along the pool floor

Correct. When you're spending $40,000 on a pool shell (strictly the shell) - anything short of perfection is b.s. Not to mention the fact that some of the walls are 1/8" thick, or the fact that the deep end wall had an 1.5" sag from corners to the middle of that wall. Why pay so much money for a garbage product and expect the contractor to beautify it? Let's not bring up the constant cracks and warranty repairs with fibreglass pools

@@visionarydesignbuild4481 no she’ll from Latham cost 40k probably delivery in your area makes it that expensive 1/8 it’s either a manufacturer defect or not true and Anyways they have lifetime warranty I did gunite for a long while and they have a huge amount of issues too. If you want to shit on the manufacturer you can do that but fiberglass is growing and eating alive the gunite market I would suggest you to get a different brand that might accommodate your needs or simply don’t do them anymore. btw how much cost a concrete shell same size in your area?

You could have done poured concrete and z forms with cuts and got the exact same look on the coping for fractions of the time, frustration and cost. But then your video would only have been 1/2 the time.

B.s. I'll take a fiberglass pool all day long over the concrete or liner pool. If you have problems installing coping, it's not the pool, it's the installer.

@@robglendon6662 the end product was perfect, the process to get there was horrendous. Not to mention the deep end sitting ledge had a 1.5" sag on the collar. Now not all are as bad, we've found the curved pools are built better than the rectangular pools. But when they ship the pools while they're still curing (confirmed by a Latham employee) - you're asking to have Q.C issues. They are overpriced pools with an over glorified warranty. Yes the end customer doesn't pay for repairs, but I wouldn't want someone cutting my pool shell in half to then re bond it using epoxies & re surfacing it with an eco finish. A decent sized pool in Canada costs us 35-40k (just the shell). It's a ridiculous cost for a sub par product.
