Watch Order, because I keep getting comments asking for it: 1-8, then Mirai Fukuin, then Extra Chorus. It's literally just the release order.
@luckyowl103 жыл бұрын
Garden of Sinners is a masterpiece, at first you are confused about this all weird paranormal thing, but as the story develops, and you understand it better, the deeper it gets, the more you appreciate the small details sprinkled there. The 5th movie is a 10/10 by itself and a special experience, but overall, all the movies are worth watching. Ufotable in 2007 had a level of animation and directing that big anime studios don't have today, 14 years later, you can give the series a high mark just for the visuals and soundtrack, but the stories is what lifts it on a next level. This series it's as good as the best of Fate (Fate/Zero & Heaven's Feel), but that's all because it was adapted so well. Even Nasu though that the series is unadaptable being as confusing and complex as it is, this isn't your Battle Royale with legendary heroes, this is a much more philosophical, slow burn tale about a girl which wants to know herself.

I was introduced to Nasuverse through Fate/Stay Night as is for most of us. But Fate/Grand Order Babylonia anime made me fall in love with the franchise and so I decided to play the online game. My first event was the Kara no Kyoukai rerun. Got curious and started watching the Garden of Sinners animated series.Still one of the greatest I've ever seen. So short yet so memorable.
@EbullientSMP5 жыл бұрын
Very nice video. I definitely agree with a lot of these points, but I think focusing Shiki's introduction to mostly "she's really badass" is missing the main appeal for her character for me. I'm possibly in the minority about this but when I think about Shiki I think about her moments of vulnerability and/or change, things like her relationship with Mikiya, her struggle, and her personality and how it's changed as a result of what happened to her. I know you wanted to leave most of her character to be found out on watching for newcomers, but personally I would've focused/hinted more at how she's constructed and how she's different as a result. Still though, fantastic vid!
@erueru61012 жыл бұрын
Aside from being badass, the most interesting part about her that i really like is how enigmatic she is. I find her relation to death, her struggles and her relationship with Mikiya so beautiful.

Nice review! I hope more and more and mooooore people would watch this amazing work! I agree with your opinion about how life is still meaningful even when you are not special, not notable, not important. Unlike other action works where the protags are usually on the weaker side and become stronger as the story progress, Shiki was strong since the start. She had trainings with her father with real sword, afterall. But she longs for a calm and normal life like Mikiya, and got a mental breakdown from that. Definitely not someone we can relate to, but her struggle and how it rewarded in the end is beautiful to watch. For those who are not sure whether to watch it or not, well, just watch it! At least until the movie 2 (or 3) through the release order, and see if the movie pick your curiosity or not. I watched these years ago, back then when I didn't even know Nasuverse was a thing and my English was crap (it is still crap, but better crap), and the movie still captivated me. Easily become the best anime I have ever watched, up until now.

Well I checked out the films thanks to this channel. I think you dropped a mention about it in the Heaven's Feel video. I can't say that I regret watching them (though I haven't seen remix and extra chorus as of writing this), I do occasionally feel the sting of disappointment. The fifth film/Paradox Spiral is the absolute highlight in KnK for me and I would rate it very highly against other anime movies I've watched. However everything after it didn't really live up to that excellence. It was mostly just flavours of solid, decent and bland. I want to credit the series's soundtrack and atmosphere for carrying the experience though for sure. Also I consider it a possibility that I will enjoy the series more on a later rewatch, maybe it's more of a grower in that regard.

Is it right etc. In the end human nature is what effected shiki and with all the supernatural main threats gone, she lived with that stisfaction with mikya her entire life. I missed some points since its been a long time since i watched but thats the depiction i remember
@fitriaahsani12863 жыл бұрын
You mean, the Epilogue? I don't know if i still remember the whole thing but let me try.... (and pls correct me if i was wrong) Remember the creepy-smiled Shiki-alike girl who Mikiya met at the start of the Movie 2? She came again to have some conversation with Mikiya, to clear things up. Let's call her [ ] Shiki. - Shiki's origin is Empty. For normal human, it results in stillborn baby. But the Ryougi family adds souls into the 'empty' vessel and that's how we get female and male Shiki. (idk if this is explained in the movie but it is like Ryougi clan's special inheritance to be able to house 2 soul in the same vessel - but only several can do it, so Shiki become their true heir instead of her older brother) - The [ ] Shiki is the personality of its vessel/physical body. It has personality because the memories, experiences, etc, are stored in the body (the brain, that is), and those things created personality. (idk if I catch this right) - The [ ] Shiki, because of her Empty origin, is connected to the Root/ Akashic Records, so she knows everything (this connection/knowledge is what Araya Souren seek), and she gets bored with the world, so she left it to the female-male Shikis. - I forget how but the killing impulses male Shiki had came from [ ] Shiki, or so she says. - The [ ] Shiki thanks Mikiya for making Shiki happy by offering him whether he has some wishes to be granted, in which Mikiya answers none. (this part made me laughed in pain, remembering those Fate/masters fighting for Holy Grail to reach the Root and have their wishes granted, where in KnK we have this girl who have special connection with the Root and offer it to a normal human....)

I have some constructive criticism on how you can improve your video making skills and viewer retention. I'm 6 minutes in and have no clue what the story is about. You didn't really explain the main plot, just the main character and how she wants to kill her love interest. You should probably do that within the first 2 minutes or start that, then try to convince us on the main selling points of it so I actually want to watch it. You're going on and on about the watch order as if I watched the first movie and loved it, I haven't even seen the first 2 seconds of the first movie. I have no incentive to watch it yet, and 6 minutes of my life is gone to movies I don't even wanna watch. I thought this video would highlight what the movies plot and strong points are, but so far it's nothing of what I expected

For those who are gonna start watching this. If you don't like it by movie 3, you should really stop. I forced myself to watch it to the very end and absolutely hated it

@@hashshashiin.forsī It feels pretentious and artificial, I’d say. I’mcurrently trying to finish it for the 3rd year. The concepts seem interesting, and I try and I try, but by the end of the 5th movie it is still bad. I cannot feel anything for the characters, even though the directing is really good, cinematic and all. It is just so messed up, meaningless violence and no depth in exploring psychology of these crazy girls. I really wish I could get why people like it…
