Thanks JannPaul for sharing the knowledge. However, please help clarify the Crown Angle limit: is it 33 or 35?
@JannPaulDiamonds5 жыл бұрын
Hi Wenfa, Thank you for pointing this out to us! There is a typo error on the video. We recommend the Crown Angle limit to be 35 degrees, and Pavilion Angle not to exceed 41 degrees. We've added this in our video comments as well.

@@JannPaulDiamonds Thanks JannPaul for your reply. Can I have your email so I can point out another mistake for you to clarify? It's related with the difference between steep crown and deep pavilion.

Super good video! Thank you so much. Now another question. In which angle proportions will a diamond start getting too shallow and how will they look like? Is the height of the crown of any importance?

Hi Jann Paul! My diamond is 56 % table, 63 % depth, 35.5 % crown and 41.2 % pavilion. I can still return the ring but my jeweller wasn’t willing to switch the centre stone or acknowledge the steep deep cut. I find that most diamonds in store aren’t better light performers. Do you have any recommendations on how the approach the situation? This video made me feel like I have a bad diamond!! Tho it sparkles more & has strong fire more than anybody else’s ring I’ve seen.

Does this apply to fancy cut shapes? Like oval, cushion and radiant?

Would a crown angle of 36° be considered too steep if combined with pavilion angle of 40.6°?
@nightdark26162 жыл бұрын
I bought a diamond that is 0,70 carats. It has exactly 34,5 and 40,8 angles. But it has a table width of 53 and length is 63. The HCA tool gives it a 1,5 score. Is it a good or bad diamond? Should I keep it or return it and try to find a better one? Ps. It is a color D and VVS2 triple excellent.

Hi JannPaul, my diamond has 35.5 crown with 41.3 pavillion , 60.8 depth is this considered steep deep. and Is a Culet Abraded diamond considered a defect

Hello JannPaul, my diamond is 34 crown angle, 40.6 pavilions, and the depth is 60.4. Will you consider it as a shallow pavilion angle?

This is why natural diamonds will be obsolete, they have many flaws. Lab diamonds dont have these issues
@kutie2163 жыл бұрын
Lab diamonds have their own flaws, most diamonds are not flawless. This video is comparing cut grades, not clarity grades, lab diamonds also have variation in cut grades, so this video is still relevant.
