It’s funny I left Turkey for Paris with worse reasons and young French are leaving Paris with such complaints…
@cagdasbilir14363 жыл бұрын
@C L of course I am not comparing Paris, France in general and Turkey but Hong Kong wouldn’t be my choice, truly. It’s sharing the position of number one with Paris and Zurich in the list of the most expensive cities of the economist. Housing is a worse problem than Paris. It’s a small island occupied and currently threatened by a totalitarian regime. It has a more capitalist system and less social security than French system. If you like to play big in a more innovative environment it’s a nice small habitat in Hong Kong but Paris is unbeatable in comparison. Beauty of the city and the country in general, thanks to protection of the heritage and nature against the destructive model of development, work life balance against the toxic working culture of China, a more diverse society, more freedom for everybody, etc. I know a lot of French friends living abroad with several reasons. Yet, the situation is not that terrible here.

Wouldn’t it be much easier for these French people to immigrate to an EU country rather than one outside the EU? It is strange for me to hear EU nationals immigrating to a non EU country.
@asnierkishcowboy3 жыл бұрын
Youre obviously not from the EU, or youre a troll. I am a german mathematician and iam also planning to leave (for good). The reasons are named in the video. The middle european countries (the so called wealthy ones) have a huge social welfare state. Germany beeing at its forefront. The expenses are through the roof and the amount of bureaucracy and laws & regulation in any aspect of life or job is crushing. You wanna tear down your own house? Haha, its possible that the bureau of "monument protection" declares your house a protected monument, once you ask them to learn whether its a monument. If that happens, its value decreases drastically and you cant do anything about it. Then you have the county selling you a lot to build a house and when you wanna build it, they realize that some rare near distinct animal lives on it (and theres loads of it) or maybe someone notices that theres old trees, which also need to be protected. It may take years to get the f*cking house build. Then we have a the highest tax bracket kicking in at 1,25 times of the average wage, which is a joke. I mean cmon, my buddy in Zurich makes like 150% my income before taxes but earns double income after taxes. Now the green party is arising, pushing the politics even more to the left. Lately theres been a debate about dispossession of real estate from investors(!!) and the so called super rich in general. Due to the exploding prices in real estate, youre basically super rich when you own two semidetached houses in a metropolitain area. And we have failed in digitalization of course. Merkel called the internet "uncharted territory" just in 2013 or 2014, which is the pinacle of ridiculousness, given the fact the iphone 5 or so was out already. We already banned stem cell research to prevent the future from happening, autonomous driving is seen as a big danger by 92% of the population, we have banned nuclear plants and coal plants and get our energy from...nuclear power and coal from outside of germany, we have +2 millions of basically uneducated and unemployed refugees, 35-50% of the new borns have muslim parents, who often do not embrace german values & tradition, our retirement system is at the verge of collapsing, only 42% of the population own a property and our infrastructure hasnt been invested in for like 30-40 years. This country is becoming great for poor, lazy loosers but if you wanna make it and are ready to work your ass off, this place isnt what it used to be. Its really depressing.

@samst79743 жыл бұрын
Loool not everyone can buy plane ticket and rent an apartment in hong kong are you kidding me ? A airplane fare is super cheap to hong kong 600e and you can easily save up to go rent somewhere else . I went to hong kong in 2012 and used to live in an HLM in Paris . Taxation is not about wealth in this case its about the income when you make more than 2500e/month you pay lots of taxes . This is why they are moving higher income + lower taxes =opportunities
@FallXD_3 жыл бұрын
If you think that paying 600e when you have a rent to pay already in France + everything that comes with is not much means that you already don’t understand what it means to be poor and the fact that you affiliate living in a HLM and being poor tells already a lot about how you think, sorry!

Because of the financial situation and from the explosion that occurred in the 4th of August that shocked and frustrated everyone here in Lebanon. Honk Kong also has that problem.
