Why YOUR BROADHEAD Didn't Work Last Season!

Today we're going to talk about why your Broadhead didn't perform for you last season. Was it really your broadhead? The three things that I really want to touch on today is shot placement, bad tracking, and then Broadhead choice.
We know that most broadheads are lethal. Some are better than others, there's no doubt about that. And you know, you've seen the comparisons and you can judge for what's most important to you when it comes down to a broadhead, but a broadhead in the right place is lethal and that's across the board for all of them, even though some of them will inherently do a better job of penetrating cutting, whatever it is, but shot placement still becomes an always is and always will be the number one reason that something didn't go right.
The next thing falls down to some videos that we've had in the past as well regarding tracking, especially liver gut, things that take a little bit longer. There's another reason that we feel our broadhead didn't do its job because we didn't get a recovery. And oftentimes it really is just us. And again, pride, we don't want to admit it. We're woodsmen. You know, we got it all under control, but it boils down to, I pushed the deer. It was a liver shot, you jumped it. And it went into the next county or private property or whatever. And you didn't get a recovery. Again, shot placement right up there at number one.
So let's talk about ways where your Broadhead could actually let you down. The biggest reason is the Broadhead didn't do what it was supposed to do, especially if it was a mechanical, every season you can see because the deer was recovered, even though it only had a bullet hole type wound that a mechanical didn't open, it didn't deploy properly or a one blade deployed and the other blade didn't.
And if it's a three blade system, it really caused things to go off course inside the animal, even change the angle for a quick downward exit, if you will, that's all possible. And that can be attributed to the Broadhead, a broken blade. But overall, I think that we tend as hunters to blame the Broadhead, no matter what type, what kind when probably 80% or better, it really is us.

Being good at anything requires knowledge and practice. Often times we operate with very little information and minimal practice. That always opens the door to failure.

Looking at shooting the K2 hybrid this year. I currently shoot 27 inch draw 70#s 300 spine 460 grain arrow (including 100gr Broadhead) . Shooting around 250+ fps . Or should I shoot the ext hybrid ? Thanks love the videos ! Keep it up !

With that setup, you can easily shoot anything in our lineup that you want. Personally, i love the original K2-Hybrid. I like the wider tip and the consistent blade angle. Plus, you will get a little wider cut over the Hybrid EXT. If you are chasing bigger game like elk, then you may see a slight penetration advantage with the 1.5 inch cut of the EXT, but with your current arrow weight, it would be negligible.
