It always nice to know that I’m not alone on my fruit trees. My Peach trees always have an abundance of peaches, but the squirrels are fat at my peach trees expense. One only produced a few this spring. I’m going on what you’re saying about too much. My apple tree are horrible at producing apples and when they do the apples are all contorted. If you have a suggestion for this, please let me know. I don’t have any fungus issues.

Fruit trees are tricky until you figure them out. Maybe the apples weren't pollinated well. Some fungal issues only show up on the fruit and not the leaves, so maybe that's the issue. Hard to know for sure - try contacting your local extension service for advice specific to your area.

@@TheFruitGrove thank you and I certainly will. I thought about adding one more apple tree to see if this would help my pollinating. My neighbor is a bee keeper, so we have lots of bee activity.

I'm new Here!! I subscribed! I'm living in Southwestern Louisiana. 9A I have a Meyer Lemon 🍋 and didn't fruit till 2 years later. It fruits in Spring. I planted it with rocks on bottom, with some sand and soil!! My question is can you fertilize when tree is starting to fruit?

Spring - that's interesting. Mine usually ripen in December. Yes you can fertilize while the tree is fruiting! Mine are in a pot, so I have to fertilize fairly often. In the ground you may only need to fertilize 2 or 3 times a season. I'm hoping to do an in-depth lemon fertilizing video soon.

learn few tips from your video, thanks. I have Meyer lemon tree in pot for 8 years, it keeps growing in size, lots of leave, no flower, no lemon. it is 6-7' tall, if I did not cut top, it could be 10' tall. Each time I fertilize, it grows lots of new leave, 3-4" huge leave. Only thing I did not do is repot, and will try to repot, any other suggestions.

A new pot/new potting soil may fix the problem. Do you fertilize? My potted citrus trees need fertilizer every 3-4 weeks during the growing season.

are you using citrus fertilizer?

Thank you for an interesting video. It is strange how different experiences can be depending on location/situations. Here in south Florida, it is commonly thought that the smaller the pot, the sooner a tree will bear fruit. That has been my experience with a variety of fruit to include several citruses, mangoes, avocadoes, and bananas. Apart from that, your conclusions are consistent with my experience here.

I definitely agree that the pot shouldn't be too large or the tree will spend all its time growing roots and leaves and not fruit. But at some point, the root ball gets too big for the pot and the soil gets depleted and needs to be replaced (or the roots trimmed).

What size pot did you move it from and then the larger size?
@TheFruitGroveАй бұрын
It was in a 16-inch pot, and I moved it to an 18-19 inch pot (diameter across the top)
