I use a variant of Subcools and Coots super soil recipes. But do have peat and moss I gather on property. And use seaweed instead of kelp. I use type s or m dolomite masonry cement 1/2 cup per gallon of soil. Vermiculite has more silica than perlite. There is fungal dominated soils and bacterial dominated soils. I use spongy wood to hold some moisture for anaerobic activities. Fresh wood chips absorb nitrogen before slowly releasing it. Then mycrrohiza move nutrient from bacteria in wood to plants. I also plant food plot clover to fix nitrogen in the orchard. I have sandy end moraine ridge and low land wetlands. Indoors I use lucky dog by fox farm with CaMg and worm leechate once a week.
