This seems to be the biggest hair-secret of them all. I accidentally grew long, thick, silky hair just from being lazy. (f*ck'ed it up in quarantine though, lol) People asked me all the time what I did to get such great hair. and their faces always went :O when I said I just wash it once a week with cheap shampoo, and trim the ends every 2 months, and thats it.. NO heat, no products, no nothing. Now that I've damaged it I've been to a hair stylist the first time in over 10 years to fix it. She told me to use this and that, and I tried it for a few months and it didnt get that much better. Then I gave up and went back to my lazy "routine" and it has improved alot more. All this talk about products is just companies wanting your money! Its madness, dont listen to them!

Same. I got hair down to my butt by just not cutting it for 7 years after a bad haircut (only trimming split ends). It's not really healthy, because I use permanent dye, but it grows like weeds

That may be true for straight, manageable hair, but for curly hair products can make a world of difference. A leave-in conditionner is as important for me as deodorant.

This is true. As a busy mom without time to work on my hair it seems to creep up on me and every once in a while I go wow! How did my hair get so long and beautiful? It's from not styling it, not washing it very much, not brushing it very much, basically just leaving it alone

I take my hair way too serious these days because I want to let it grow long. A few years ago I didnt do anything good to my hair. I washed it everyday. I dyed it multiple times and it was always so full and long. Now I really try to focus and follow all these tipps: dont wash too often dont do this dont do that and my hair is not so full and shiny as it once was. I think I have to chill out 😂

I've heard coconut oil is rich in protein so if overused it can make hair brittle is that true??? Also Can u do a video about scalp health please
@SarahIngleOfficial
@SarahIngleOfficial 4 жыл бұрын
I’d love to do research on scalp health so we can do a video on it! There’s a really interesting study on coconut oil and the way it binds to hairs and can prevent some of the water from getting inside it while washing. That’s exactly what you want for some types of hair but not necessarily other types. I should more research and do a whole video on it because it’s super interesting!
@skylarbix7912
@skylarbix7912 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, for me, I was using coconut oil mixed with a little bit of nice thick conditioner and put it on my damp hair, put a wrap around my head and let it be like that for a while(hours), but when I tried to rinse it ALL OUT..it was ridiculous !🤣I ended up having to shampoo my hair 2's to get the oil out! Now if I want a deep conditioning, I use a LITTLE bit of avocado oil w/a good conditioner, then rinse it out, much less damaging to my hair. 🤭Oh, also I saw another video about putting oils on the hair & scalp, and it said depending on what kind of hair you have, coconut/olive oils, can LOOSEN THE HAIR FOLLICLES, making the hair fall out!! I couldn't believe it!

Yes. When used too much and too often protein is bad for your hair. Very bad.
@sk8tergrl181
@sk8tergrl181 3 жыл бұрын
It has no protein, the fatty acid molecules in coconut oil are able to penetrate the hair cuticle and prevent water from getting in and causing damage. It can cause buildup bc it’s hard to wash out, so it shouldn’t be used too much

Hi! I wanted to say I agree with you. I was doing a coconut oil hair mask every week for two months and my hair broke off six inches. It was so devastating and I had to wear my hair in a bun for the whole year. I'm still working on growing it out. I watched a KZbin video of a girl with long shiny hair and it didn't work out for me.😓 Thank you so much for sharing all this information.

I think it's also really important to note that the images or thumbnails we see of absolutely gorgeous hair, that person's hair doesn't even look like that all the time. There's lighting and effects and so many other factors. I've gone overboard wanting my hair to be so shiny and glossy and soft and silky and healthy and perfect looking to the point it actually ended up weakening my hair from all the hair masks and moisture and protein of trying to get my hair to look as good as I could. Now, I'm going back to basics and with that embracing my naturally wavy hair again and letting my hair be😂

I feel like in States there is no word saying about PEH BALANCE which means a balance between proteins, emollients and humectants. When you don’t follow this rules, your hair can look worse even when you use the same products and it used to make you hair look good (that is what you are talking about in this vid). This situation is because in one product there is some of proteins or emollients or humectants (sometimes for example only emollients like oils). If you use it all the time your hair are having to much of it and they need a balance like proteins or humectants. I feel like in USA people should realize it more because it doesn’t work without any reason. I’m from Poland and this balance is well known in “hair care society” and its all about analyzing product labels.

I have a pretty long and full haircare routine but i only wash my hair once a week. Like i use olive oil and leave it on a night because i use very little, then in the morning i put on a deep treatment for the said time, then i wash my hair, then i use the first conditioner, but it doenst really do much for me when I just do one, so i use two. And then i wash it out and i dry my hair and comb it through, then i put in a hair oil and a leave in something something (two last ones are from olaplex). I just started using the deep treatment, hair oil and leave in something something. But I've always left oil in over night if not a whole ass 24 hours lol, and i always condition twice too. But after this video i am afraid tht adding the deep treatment and hair oil and hair leave in thingy might be too much. I don't hope so, because results have been amazing. But i only used it for three times now. Is it too much? Idk I'll have to see i guess. I really hope it's not tho

This is me. That quest for the perfect hair products, perfect routine. The urge to try the latest product because it’s got no silicones, no this no that. I find that I get influenced by what the haircare groups say online. There are many haircare groups who say that silicones need to be avoided in haircare in order for the treatments to penetrate. Every time I remove silicones from styling products or serums, my hair is awful. Should I persist or is it just my hair that needs different products?

I did something terribly wrong. I only had colored hair in my curtain bangs and in my underlayer of my hair. I didn't like my hair half natural, half colored. So I cut the color of. And now it looks terrible... Thankfully it's not noticeable but my hair is a lot thinner now. And this is all because of stress and obsessing over my hair. I plan on not cutting my hair for an entire year now, and letting it do it's own thing, although it makes me still very stressed. I hope that one year later I can make an update :)

Probably because you already get a normal amount of biotin from your normal diet. You seem to be overloading in biotin if you consume those biotin gummies. And too much of anything is bad.

I used 1 egg, 2tbsp of olive oil, and 1 tsp of milk. I do this method 3 times a weak and honestly it improved my hair so I would say that eggs in your hair mask is a good thing

GOSH it's so refreshing to find someone else talking REAL 💩 I get nauseous every time I watch one of those "egg every day and WOW SHOCKING MY HAIR GREW AND IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!!" The worst claims are hair growth... those get my soul. There are pretty good natural ingredients out there but let's be honest, the claims people make these days are but a bucket of empty hopes for desperate people. Thanks for helping in the cause, Sarah.

I’ve always had long hair so it’s hard to say. Once or twice a year I usually get a good bit chopped off - often around when it gets any over 3 feet long because it almost gets dangerous and gets caught in things after that point.

i definitely get obsessed with things and go overboard. when i first learned about skincare i tried to incorporate retinol and vitamin c in my routine at the same time, after i’d already stripped my barrier using an exfoliating wash and toner twice a day! my skin seemed fine then the second i decided to try a new cleanser it was like the straw that broke the camel’s back! i broke out in contact dermatitis and it took over a year for my skin barrier to finally be healthy again.

I totally relate to going overboard and I live in rabbit holes lol! I think it stems from impatience...I want everything to be black and white in a grey world so I can figure it out logically, implement it and move on. Easy peasy but it’s actually the opposite. I definitely just finished the same journey you did with my hair and also basically just came back full circle. I started looking into what I needed and how to fix this and that but ended up realizing that my hair was already quite healthy. I learned that I should basically just keep doing what I’ve already been doing. I’m going to start paying more attention to ingredients and try listening to my hair more...do masks PERIODICALLY if I feel I need to but the greatest thing I took away from all of it was to simply...to buy a shower filter. Seriously! WORLD of difference!!! :)
