If I could have just gotten my left hand to sync up with my right hand there’s no telling where it could have gone. Now I’m 41 and I can feel the hands not moving like they use to on top of that. I believe you are on to something on just playing the notes with the left hand and no picking. I’ll try it out. Appreciate it

Ive been struggling with my hand synchronization lately, and its pretty frustrating. I like your approach to solving that problem, and I'm going to try it. That was a very helpful lesson, thank you!

So I recently am running into this situation right now. I can pick at about 75 - 80 BPM but I've hit a wall with going faster. What I'm learning is that you have to start pushing through on your alternate picking rather than plucking the string. So I've started just doing 3 notes at first to hit the beat.

Very nice and straight to the point. Definitely the info people need rather than yet another pointless etude with little to no explanation

Theres not enough emphasis put on developing your hand motor memory when practicing phrases and scale exercises. Youre hands must first be able to play something slowly and in sych first until it becomes programed into your muscle memory so that as you increase your speed your synchronization will still hold together just like learning to walk, then speed walk and then run without tripping!!

So two things here: 1) I addressed that very issue right at the start (around 55 seconds into the video). So I did state that the rest of the things here wouldn’t be helpful if you haven’t already thoroughly learned what it is you’re playing. 2) The place I disagree with you is the thought that if you can play it slow, you can just linearly speed it up and it’ll stay perfectly in sync. The walk to run analogy is actually perfect because it demonstrates this exact thing. The way in which you walk and run are two totally different movements. You don’t see competitive runners just walking super fast, they are different things. In that same way, constantly pushing the tempo up gradually thinking that it’ll always just stay in sync as you push it faster, doesn’t really work. At some point you do actually have to address the speed as it’s own issue. You do this by taking short phrases/smaller groupings of notes and pushing them up to much higher speeds than you can sustain for longer periods of time. This gets you used to the feeling of actually playing fast. Both sides of the coin are necessary, not just one or the other. Again, you don’t see sprinters just doing lots of power walking and then suddenly they are great at running.

Whats with the Kirk hate? Yea he's done in now but he was pretty sic back in the day.
@JakeJensenGuitar Жыл бұрын
I thought his playing was pretty decent on Master of Puppets and And Justice For All, but listening to his faster playing on the first two albums, it just sounds sloppy. That being said, everyone has different preferences, and it was just a joke. Hope you still found the lesson helpful

Why is it that anytime someone disagrees with, or doesn't like something, it's automatically reffered to as hate? I'm really tired of it.

Kirk is playing the same pentatonic scale since he was born. He’s the worst! 🙃

Have you ever thought why Steve Vai or Paul Gilbert never in their lives say mean negative comments like this
@mercury4metal11 ай бұрын
@@marcinmcula99 maybe they haven’t, but how do you know they don’t think it? Kirk isn’t on the same level as them. The truth is he’s highly overrated, just like Slash. 🤮
@marcinmcula9911 ай бұрын
@@mercury4metal I don't think anyone thinks Kirk or Slash are on the same level of technicality as Vai or Gilbert. Slash plays a damn tasty bluesy rock solo and Paul plays a wonderful shred solo. Good technique is crucial but if that's all you think about then your music won't be any good

Maybe. But people don't seem to realize he's also playing the same downpicked riffs as Hatfield.
