Fortunately so far, my husband still removes his clothes to go to bed. After he takes them off, I put them in the washer. He normally just wears jeans and a t-shirt so he doesn’t notice much difference. Now getting him to shower is a big challenge… Thank you for your videos.

I was working with dementia patients and one would not change her clothing or take a shower…for days. I went and whispered in her ear that she smelled bad and could I help help her with that? She said “ oh my” and she went with me and showered.

I wish there had been channels like this when my mother was still alive, and had dementia, I was pretty much dealing with it alone. She has been gone 10 years now.

I took care of my Mom when she had breast cancer and dementia for 5 years. She didn’t want to wash for a number of memory reasons. I think she thought she could do it herself. She only took baths. So. I had a sturdy chair in the tub with a towel to cushion her bottom. Old people don’t like to waste their money. So, I would turn on the water and tell her you don’t want to waste this water do you. It worked every time.😊

I don't have dementia, and I really don't like changing my clothes in the winter, because it is cold! The clothes I have are comfortable, and I have a few favorites. This makes me think I should start getting into some habits NOW, so I still have them IF I get dementia.... Also.... I read the comments..... and I love your hair.... it is unique and fun!

I don't have dementia but I am disabled. Frankly, I'm scared to have to step into a bathtub with shower option because I am scared of slipping or falling. Also, because of balance problems, I would like a seat but, if I can find one to fit a tub, there is no room to get into the tub without spraying the entire bathroom.

I knew a lady with dementia. Over the course of a year, she went from changing clothes from one dirty set to another dirty set, to finally just wearing the same dirty set every day. I don't think she bathed in that year, either. If you had agreed to arrive on a different day, she'd forget the conversation and be irate because "people were coming over and you couldn't be seen in her house." 🙄 There hadn't been guests in that home for decades. When she came at me to tell me to leave soon, I thought she was going to hit me.

What are you talking about? She is giving you clues. Just not the entire story. Which would be laborious. Go to her link if you want to know more. That’s what I will do.
