Please please someone pray for me. I am in constant fear mode, panicked or distressed, 16 months of this, and I keep wishing I didn't have to live anymore. I have two kids who need their mom to be normal.

Hey I was in this same spot myself (also a mother). I got to a point where I poured my heart out to Jesus and then started praying the rosary. Whenever I start getting bad thoughts I start saying Hail Marys. It helps a lot and really calms you down and helps you focus. If you can’t sit there and do a rosary I highly recommend going for walks around the block and whispering the rosary while you do. Also it really helps with procrastination or motivation. Start doing the thing you are putting off but say the rosary while you do it. I use my fingers because they are 10 just like a decade. This has helped me be more productive also. I will pray for you and your kids in my rosary today. God bless.

I strongly recommend finding a good mental health counselor. Try reaching out to your parish priest or diocese to see what resources they can connect you to or look for counselors in your area. It's hard to see, but it will get better. God created you on purpose and doesn't want you to live in fear. I'll be praying for you.

I’m asking this to try to help. I y it send to have similar issues. Fear of unknown problem$ ( like car breaking) &/or spite filled vindictive people were the root of mine. What are you scared of? What unknown thing or subject do you think will cause a problem out of no where ?? I send hugs and prayers.

When I tell people I will pray for them, I usually say a small, short prayer right then and there or soon after. Nothing fancy, but I want to make sure I do it. 🩷 God knows what’s in our hearts without us even having to say a word and sometimes I tell Him that also. “God, I can’t put into words what I’m feeling or asking for, but You know”. Bless Father. Thank you for this. I’ll use those tiny prayers daily now as I’m going through things that feel hard.

As a teacher for 28 years in the American public school system, I've had a few situations, not many though, were the kids were very squirrelly. I go to the back of the room and pretend to be doing something and quietly - whisper, so the demons could hear - pray three Hail Marys. Every time I did this the settled down. Thank you Holy Spirit for giving me that inspiration.

I've deep dived today interceding for my husband (who has abandoned us for almost 2 years; not a peep from him). I do this daily but I really got into it today. A few short hours later, this premier came up. I think God spoke to me (and others) through this video. Thank you, God. Thank you, Father. May God bless and protect you, always. 💜

Thank you, Fr. Columba. I’ve experienced what you mentioned! Singing in choir during Mass; if we have a difficult song to sing I ask God to go before us and touch the hearts that they may hear Him and not us, and immediately it sounds different and afterwards people ask for the lyrics. Praise be to Him

Father that has been my prayer now for a while… God is making us all more aware of how simple prayer can be. There is so much need and we all come face to face with evil in our own circles. We have to be in a state of constant prayer. Also just saying the name of Jesus when you feel the presence of evil is powerful. Or doing the sign of the cross is very effective. Monks used to bless their monasteries just be walking around the property doing the powerful sign of the cross. Thank you father for giving us this confirmation. God is GOOD! and is Emmanuel, God is always with us.

Wonderful insight, Fr. Columba. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your talks immensely. Puts in mind two incidents. One time my grandmother Mary lost a set of keys in a snowbank. After a fruitless search, she went inside to pray to St. Anthony. While she was doing so, I was walking home from the arcade. As I approached her front step, it was like a light shone on a breach in the snow. I reached in and plucked out her lost keys. Had no idea she was praying. Wheny daughter was little, she had trouble sleeping. So I would go into her room amd begin to mimick the breathing pattern of a sleeping person. Gradually, her breathing would entrain with my own. It helped her drift off many a time.

The Buddhists have a nifty little template called the metta prayer. I don’t know what it does for those I’m praying for, but I know what it does for me - takes my eyes off me and stretches my heart out toward them. First I pray for those I love, then I pray for those I don’t usually notice, then I pray for those who are difficult to love - what I want most for myself - that I be relieved of the bondage of self. I can do that with my whole heart. Love your message!
@maryannerazzano769219 күн бұрын
We have a similar prayer for those in recovery. " God , I offer myself to thee. To build with me and to do with me as you will. Relieve me of the bondage of self , that I may better do thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy power , Thy love and Thy way of life. May I do Thy will always . "

Romans 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also comes to help us, weak as we are. For we do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express. Some translations literally say 'makes intercession for us'.

There is a devotion called The Flame of Love which is referring to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. While praying the Hail Mary prayer and right after the 'pray for us sinners' you say "and may the grace from the Flame of Love descend upon ________(the intention) Amen. This really makes for a thoughtful, powerful Rosary prayer time too.
@stevehammett200820 күн бұрын
The Flame of Love Hail Mary prayer goes like this: Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus Holy Mary, Mother of God,. Pray for us, sinners. Spread the effect of Grace of thy Flame of Love, over all humanity. Now, and at the hour of our death. Amen!

I grew up protestant (converted 43 years ago). We had a joke, you could tell a denomination by their "meetings ". The Presbyterians would create a Committee to further plan meetings, and then the Committee would have a Committee Meeting to assign a Meeting Leader for each Meeting...took forever to make a decision, lol. But as a Catholic, we're definitely WORSE!

Romans 4:20 KJV "he (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of GOD through unbelief but was strong in FAITH giving glory to GOD 21 and being fully persuaded that what HE had promised, HE was able also to perform. 22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. 23 Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him; 24 but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we BELIEVE on HIM that raised up JESUS our LORD from the dead; 25 Who was delivered for our offences and was raised again for our justification."

I’m somewhat new to praying. I have never been too sure on how to pray for others so this helps! What I usually do is dedicate my rosary for the day to different people I know but I’m not sure if that is effective? When I pray I just speak to God in a conversation style but it would be so helpful to have a praying guide or tips for coming up with the right words that are the most effective. I also do not know how to dedicate a mass for people so before I receive communion each week I tell Jesus that this communion is for so and so please send the graces to them. I am not sure if we can do this or if this is the right way to do it so any tips or advice would help! I recently learnt that sprinkling holy water on the church floor when entering the church for mass for the holy souls in purgatory helps them so I’ve been doing this too. I also say the st Gertrude prayer in between the decades of my rosary for the holy souls in purgatory. Please if you could make a video about other ways to give back to people through prayer that would be very greatly appreciated.
