Great discussion of pricing, business models, profitablity. Printavo looks great for Screen Printing. Anybody have suggestions for a lithography printer (specifically large(r) flat printing business?

Great discussion. I would love to see a few real world examples from different shops in the form of spreadsheets or simple PL reports. I do find it difficult to KISS and not over think things when trying to determine which bucket to put certain costs into…

My 2 cents. How much effort are you putting into the sale or preparing the quote? Is it going to be a repeat order (so it could be gravy in the future)? The time it takes to work on the sale is an intangible cost (especially if you are the owner doing the sales) but probably is the most important aspect if you're trying to grow your business. Also, just because the sale happened in this month, if you are accruing sales correctly, they should probably only be recognized as revenue in the month that it is produced unless you are outsourcing it and accruing the costs. I rather sell carhartt and patagonia.. Great episode....
