Man, I'm with you on this lol. My view of the Persona 4 protagonist has always been, "What if the Red Ranger from Power Rangers was your best friend in high school?" Like, he's undoubtedly a dope viber and a great dude who works with you to improve, and that's sick. But every now and then he, with full sincerity, drops a speech about the power of friendship. Imagine you got out to Pizza Hut with your homie during lunch, and out of nowhere he's like "This is the power of bonds. I would do anything for you, and that's what gives me strength." Like, you're flattered and you certainly return the sentiment, but it's crazy he can just drop that, with full sincerity, and make it sound natural. He's not a jock or an alpha male, he's a massive dork who loves fishing, his friends, and making dumb, deadpan jokes. He makes the same broad, sweeping statements an action hero or superhero would make, except he's in the real world. And that's why he's the GOAT. Not because he's this insane chad with W rizz, but because he's a hokey, kinda awkward, and intensely caring person. Great video big dog!
