All my life I've preferred to listen to male singers, so for me, it's a foregone conclusion😉 I think Dan does this beautifully, that particular higher pitch of his is stunning. Thank you for your reaction🥰

I agree on his presence. He doesn’t have to do anything but stand there. No hype. Cause his voice his very addictive. I’m not easily impressed with a lot of these “celebrity”singers. Only few last also. But Dan has something that draws you in.

When Dan does this song it just brings all the feels to me. It just has so much passion. I agree with your idea that they are both totally awesome for different reasons. But for me, I prefer Dan's version because I do feel that passion and even some angst more than in the Nightwish version. ♥

No need to choose which one is "better." Nightwish is good because they do Nightwish things, and Dan is good because he does Dan things. I wouldn't expect them do the other's thing, and I just enjoy what they each do. That being said, I prefer Dan's version to Nightwish's simply because it's the song that introduced me to Nightwish.

One of my favorites by Dan and I think I prefer his version even though the original is great, as well. When Dan goes up that octave and hits those higher notes for "to last for a...", his voice to me sounds a bit like Geoff Tate's (Queensryche) back in the day. I'd actually love to hear Dan do one of those songs by Queensryche.

Well, I guess if you told me I was going to be stranded on a desert island with only one version of this song, I’d choose Tarja’s rendition on End of an Era. I love Floor’s version as well. This is the first time I’ve heard anything from this performer, so I’m not quite acclimated to his sound yet. I didn’t love it, but maybe after hearing more from him I’ll grow to appreciate his vocals more. Good analysis on your part.
