Salary is not just less , it's not even given at time these days . We have to wait 2 or 3 months to get one month salary. I resigned from my job to prepare for NCLEX exam and after I passed I had to rejoin in the same hospital because US hospitals apparently only hired currently working nurses . I worked in that hospital for 6 years . I had 6 years of working experience but when I was rehired I had to work for way less payment. I had to start like a newbie again . What you mentioned is only the tip of iceberg . There are tons and tons of issues that are pushing nurses out .

I think another most important reaoson nurses leaving Nepal is lack of respect from doctor and patient We are working for both but we get disrespected by both Not all some patient and doctors are soo kind , lovely and appreciative but few people are so mean without reason They makes us wonder sometimes why we are in this profession.. Doctors in nepal think they have authority to shout at us in small mistakes sometimes even without mistake to feel superior.. Most pateint think we are there just to wipe stool urine and they treat us and. Its been a several months I resigned from one of the private hospital due to delay in salary and still they have not cleared my payment which is of 3 months and when reason was asked they easily replied with " kun chai hospital le time ma salary dinxa ra.. sabai thau ma estai ho timi harule esari paisa magna paudaina" which sounds clearly unprofessional and shows how much nurses are being neglected.

@@dipeshneupane998 dont fret my friend. I'm a bhm graduate. It's an undeniable reality that u will earn more abroad than in nepal. But trust me unless u manage to get into some 5star property or high end restaurant, most likely u will end up doing 12hr+ shift with very low pay. There isn't much market for bhm graduates here. Even at 5star property i believe starting salary is around 20k. And Nepal doesn't lack experience based hotel line workers with no degree so u are going to have a hard time trying to get a job as a fresh graduate with very little experience. But on the bright side u will be paid more than what i have personally seen nursing care workers are being paid both abroad and in nepal.

One point i want to add as a nurse who work overseas is that nursing leads to so many field if you are overseas nurse whereas in nepal you have to be bed side nurse for life which is not sustainable > very few nurses can work as bed side nurse for more than 5 to 6 years . usually after 6 to 7 in years in the field if you are nurse in developed country you have oppurtunity to become specialist nurse,Public health, nurse practitioner, educators , managers and alot of private companies hire nurses for a lot of sales job as well. Many hospitals i have worked have CEOs who were nurses. and now alot of nurses also work in health informatics as they have first hand experience of hospital and health system and IT companies like to have them in board . Also, insurance companies also love to hire nurses.So if you thinking of building careers in nursing , dont be discouraged . Sky is the really limit for you.

Nursing is physically mentally and emotionally draining profession. You neither get good sleep, good rest, good food, appreciation, good health or good salary. As nurses connects every working body with patients, gets blamed for every other bodies mistakes, we get shouted on for illogical and unnecessary reasons. We are taught to be kind to everyone but in return noone is kind to us. We are not robots, we are also human being with emotions, same oragans and systems like all people. We feel same feelings and emotions like all do. We are on direct contact with all kind of patients with different disease but there is no health insurance for us, no free checkup of your health on yearly basis on your working hospital, and worst pat is incase you got infected with some disease during working, you dont even get proper sick leaves, once you can walk then you should present in hospital otherwise you will be fired. We risk our life on cost of nothing really, we don't have family life coz we are always in hurry for our duties, we got isolated from families, friends slowly coz we dont have time for them. Even if we say something people will smash you with ethics. If you are nurse you have to endure everything coz you are paid for it, what is logic behind it, i dont get to know till date. Been a nurse for 3 years, i tried so hard to be positive on my profession, i tried everything i could but still i m loosing myself little by little Every year, i dont know about other profession and other countries but in nepal seriously we treated like a shit from your seniors, co workers, other health bodies, patients and visitors.

One of my respected doctors once said WE ARE HIGHLY SKILLED UNDERPAID LABORS.. Spent 5yrs of time 15-18lakhs of money earned 19-20k/month… I being Immensely motivated individual Earned few disease(gastritis, anxiety, demotivation, decreased self respect and low esteem) Ended up quitting nursing to have my dignity respected… unemployed insearch of new profession… Well thank u Nepal government..MoH..and specially senior post, who have more capability of running mouth than hands and brain… A bit of nursing body that everytime fails to protect its own thing, more of hospital management that fails to respect and specially APPRECIATE nurses. Your contents are absolutely to the point. I have been in UK for almost 20 years and now I can see young doctors are too flooding here which is not good for the country at all. I love Nepal but I had to leave for Uk in 2004 as I needed my identity as a nurse. I was from very modest, education orientated and middle class family. Education and self respect was taught to me since childhood. I completed my nursing from TUTH and did job for a year. I felt very empty when my profession didn’t have proper recognition. I used to wonder why I m treated like a maid by the employers, doctors, patients and relatives even though I did my proper university education. I felt like I had chosen a very wrong profession. Only the way out for me was to come to Uk 🇬🇧 You are correct that health care staff here are underpaid in comparison to work load( not only nurses even doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists all multidisciplinary teams), but you will get Job satisfaction and feel the productivity of yourself. Job description and delegation are so organised that you don’t have to rely on different professionals to dictate you. We have our own professional nursing team to guide us and dictate us unlike in Nepal. You can choose your preferred specialised career but within your Nursing profession. Respect, support and professionalism are key qualities that keeps you motivated here. At least that’s what I feel…

Bitter truth. I've been following your content from the start, and I believe that despite your excellent content, you aren't getting the recognition you deserve. I think starting a podcast would be a great idea because you're good at communicating and have a great sense of humour. I believe that a podcast from you would offer valuable content and engaging conversations.
