It's the tune of a song by Carolina Nairne, and the tune has not been traced before the song, so there's a fair chance she wrote the tune too.
Often played in ceilidhs as part of a set for Gay Gordons. Also often played in A on a D/G melodeon (as here: twice in G , then twice in A) because it's quite easy to do.
