Please continue the awesome videos of Wichaar Webcast.
Ezaj ji, correct me if I m wrong, Baba Farid also stayed at Faridkot, East Punjab, may be briefly and it is said that the king there was building a fort and thinking that he was an ordinary man put him to work as well. When the king saw that the "bathal" is moving above his head realized that he is a "pir raiber pursh", apologized from him. There is a gurudwara there now. Baba Sheikh Farid is greatly revered and loved and sung in Punjab. Thank you for such an informative video.

Sir I think you may have mixed Baba Fareed Ganjshakar and Baba Ghulam Fareed. Baba Ghulam Fareed was the poet whose some contributions are in Guru Granth Sahib. Baba Fareed Ganjshakar was the Chisti Sufi on whom Fawaid Ul Fawaid is written.

Good Information and many thanks for that! But with no offence intended, Doctor Sahib, I have doubts that the Gurus ever tinkered with Baba Farid's Bani. It is present as it is. The Gurus would clarify, via their own writing, the "Kalam" of other Bhagats but did not edit it as an editor at a modern publishing house does. Baba Farid's "kalam" starts with "Salok Shaikh Farid Jio Ke" and does not have Mahla Pahla etc. In fact, "Mahla Daswan" is also not at all present in Guru Granth Sahib since Guru Gobind Singh, the last to edit the Granth, never included his "Bani". Once again, very indebted for presenting information in such an easy format!

Rajinder Singh ji, Guru Amardas ji and guru Arjan dev ji has infact added/clarified Bhagat's bani within their ongoing bani under their title. E.g. Ang 1375, 1376 Guru Arjan added their own salok under tittle Mahalla 5 in Kabir ji's bani. similarly, Ang 1378 to 1383, within saloks of bhagat Fareed ji, there is bani of Mahalla 3 and 5. These additional saloks are on same topics which baba Fareed ji or Kabir ji are talking about in their previous salok. So Dr. sahib is correct at that point. The only correction is that Guru Gobind Singh's bani is not included in Guru granth sahib. Dr. sahib might not know this. its ok.

Being descendant of Baba Farid let me clarify one thing which you stated sir. Although a darvesh like Baba Farid always negates himself and considers himself as nothing, however the family background is that Qazi Sheikh Shoaib the grandfather of Baba Farid moved from Afghanistan to Sub Continent and settled near Multan. He also served as Qazi at new place. Baba Farid did not belong to kammi family. Baba Farid was born in 1173 at Kothewal village, 10 km from Multan in the Punjab in what is now Pakistan, to Jamāl-ud-dīn Suleimān and Maryam Bībī (Qarsum Bībī), daughter of Sheikh Wajīh-ud-dīn Khojendī. He was a descendant of the Farrūkhzād, known as Jamāl-ud-Dawlah, a Persian (Tajik) king of eastern Khorasan. He was the grandson of Sheikh Shu'aib, who was the grandson of Farrukh Shah Kabuli, the king of Kabul and Ghazna. When Farrukh Shāh Kābulī was killed by the Mongol hordes invading Kabul, Farīd’s grandfather, Shaykh Shu'aib, left Afghanistan and settled in the Punjab in 1125.
