‘Wicked’ Deserves EVERY Award

I also gave Wicked a 4.5 out of 5 on Letterboxd ONLY because it’s a part 1 (I gave the same score to Across the Spiderverse for the same reason) therefore not the full story, and I agree about the color. I get what the director is saying but Barbie was able to accomplish the same “real” journey Barbie goes while leaning into the fully saturated and colorful aesthetic. The Wizard of Oz was a huge milestone in technicolor so why not up that prestige by making Shiz more vibrant. Zero complaints once they get to the Emerald City tho

Assuming Wicked is made for the eyes of 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 or chicks.. From a straight dudes perspective, it’s a 3.5/10. Curious what Marty Mush would score it. But knowing Marty he’ll just agree with whatever Ria says.😂 Wicked live play/musical was all time. & this isn’t hatred btw, y’all are awesome. Ria-your Opera singing was epic/WICKED🎤🎶 & I’d rate that way higher than the movie, but AN OSCAR?? What are we talking about guys? Gia nailed the critique.🤝 The highest I’ve heard from my homies that went with their girls to watch is a 5/10.🤷‍♂️ That’s why I assume it’s a gays or girl movie. Also want to preference I love like every chick flick, but I don’t even know what this train wreck was.. Don’t rip me apart.😅
