At least I'm glad Mattel is elevating their quality back slowly, and hopefully we'll see the day they return back the Flawless 90s/60s Barbie Quality again! I do like Glinda's dress silhouette, but I wish it was made with nice satin or flowy tulle instead of that plasticky fabric normally used on Modern Holiday Barbie.

I'm a huge fan of the original Wizard of Oz book series, I read all of the books as a kid and I LOVE them even to this day. I also like the Wicked musical and I'm looking forward to the film so much!

This particular material of Glinda's dress is what we'd use to line dress and give it structure at my job (making children's dresses). It's basically a stiff poly taffeta that you'd use UNDER the outer shell of the fabric. It's sad that they're using it as dress fabric. It's also incredibly cheap. I understand that they're probably using it because it holds the structure well, but I think They could've found a nicer Poly Taffeta to do the same thing with.

I got deluxe Glinda. I would’ve paid a lot of money for the bubble dress doll so i didn’t feel ripped off but Elphaba doll…. Your right about the fit it’s almost the same as the regular Elphaba dolls. I think im gonna TRY to wait for part 2 to get maybe Good deed doll?! We’re getting bubble dress because that version of Glinda appears in part 1 but I’m excited to see part 2 Elphie.

At least, Elphabath doll has extra accessories featured that can try to justify the price, but when I'm looking to the Glinda doll, I feel more like those dolls should be around 30-40. I don't see the reason to overprice these dolls like for the movie Barbie (I don't wanna know how much they will cost in Europe) other than : "They come in bigger boxes and we wrote Deluxe on it".

When it comes to the deluxe dolls you’re paying for the stand and the packaging! It’s stupid I know but those boxes do cost more to produce than the mostly plastic ones do. I’m not defending it I’m not excusing it and I fully agree that without the “extra little thing” they are just the regular dolls for way more money. I just know that’s where your money is going 😒😒

Ouch, I'm sorry you have to pay 50 pounds for these dolls. That's $65 in US dollars. In the US we pay USD $40 each for these dolls. For me, they are "ok" for $40, I think $29.99 would be better for the quality. The last 4-5 years I've just refused to give Mattel more than $40 for a doll. I bought the MH Rupaul for $50, but that's my top. Mattel is getting too crazy with their pricing.

I kind of wish the Glinda doll didn’t look so much like Arianna because I don’t like Arianna (sorry Arianna fans) and because it makes it hard to separate her from the character she’s playing. I also just think the dolls always look kind of weird in general when they try to make them look like the actresses, certainly not as bad as before but not good either. They’re also just too overpriced imo. Mattel seems to slowly be bringing back the quality though which hopefully continues fingers crossed.

I just saw someone do a repaint and make a new dress for Glinda 🩷 and what they achieved was definitely worth £50. For £50 I expect the dress to be hemmed and for Elphaba's hat to be fabric. I think the face molds are good to be fair...but not worth £50 overall.
