But she can sing rare female contralto, using yodeling, growl, etc. Diana has a sad backstory but now everything is OK. You have just listened to what may be a true contralto. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure”, I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Take On Me” or "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful. Her Russian fans are the BEST!

Diana Ankudinova has a true contralto voice, a rare female voice type, in particular, the quality of her tone, timbre, the roundness of her sound, the resonance, and depth of her voice define her as a "dramatic contralto", the rarest of the rare type of contralto. Diana is also a real polyphonic singer which in itself is also a rare talent and is a vocal technique that creates two different tones at the same time which makes it sound like two different voices at the same time. Diana does this through the resonance created by the airflow through the lungs, throat, and mouth and tongue placement which is why some people mistakingly think she is using a voice synthesizer to manipulate her voice, or there's another voice singing, or she is singing over a pre-recorded track, which she is not. Also, on average the vast majority of female singers don't reach their full vocal maturity until they are 22 to 25 years of age. In May of 2022, Diana Ankudinova will be 19.
