Yall showed them the movie version of popular. How come not the movie version of defying gravity. I mean Cynthia is the movie's LEAD.

🤡 1 not everything is supposed to offend you. 2 because there's literally no clip of defying gravity from the wicked movie on KZbin. 3 Cynthia isn't the movie's only lead, Glinda is also the lead + EVERYBODY knows who ariana is and NOBODY knows who that Cynthia is. Without wicked and ariana she's not known. Most of the people who watched the movie are ariana fans and wicked fans. Ariana helped to make movie popular While the move made Cynthia popular (she's still unknown😂)

Ok, so I own the book, saw the musical, and just saw the movie two days ago. And each has it's charms, but I'm still kind of riding on the emotions from the movie. It was SO well done. Some of the sets look like the original Wizard of Oz movie with Judy Garland that I grew up on, and SPOILERS! (the two special people they brought in for one song almost had me crying). And Cynthia Erivo. Cynthia Erivo! Her rendition of Defying Gravity actually did make me tear up.

they sing live while filming the movie.. so its also feel like they are doing theater play.. i will not appreciate theater play its not for me.. so im happy they make a movie and i love it so much i even cry like a baby.. i love elphaba cynthia :) she is my elphaba for life :)

Oh yeah! Wicked has been performed in Korean, Japanese, German, Dutch, Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Mexican Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. In 2025, productions in Norwegian, Polish and Castalian Spanish are premiering.

No shade to Idina Menzel, but Willemijn Verkaik is the best Elphaba ever. She is absolutely incredible, and she remains the only person who has ever played the character in more than one language.

I loved this video and their insights. And I really enjoyed the movie, they changed what needed to be changed and kept what needed to be kept. I especially loved the instrumentation on the soundtrack, it was so rich! Unrelated but gosh I am NOT a fan of that Indina clip. Must have been an off day or smth bc I’ve heard her do much better.

I think they may have used her final performance of "Defying Gravity" or just a show that she wasn't feeling her greatest, but it is well known that Idina is an asthmatic and that definitely affects her performance. Add on to the fact "Defying Gravity" being a vocally challenging song to begin with, can be a recipe for disaster. As for the movie, I heard Ariana stood her ground to John M. Chu when he wanted to make changes to critical points in the storyline. Although I admit I'm not a huge fan of her, I applaud her on behalf of all the musical theater enthusiasts and theater nerds who would have uproar on huge storyline changes.
