In this video I review the self titled album by WICKED LESTER. This is where rock legends KISS began their rise to world domination !

You can hear how important the addition of Peter Criss and Ace Frehley played in defining and launching KISS the ‘Hottest Band in the World’

Without aces guitar playing an Peters unorthodox drumming Paul and gene would have been cab driver's lol

Thank you, Dave, for this review. Yeah, see, just as you point out, Paul and Gene were on the right track with Wicked Lester. However, Gene said Wicked Lester lacked a true cohesiveness about it. He said, "If you looked at Wicked Lester, we came off as a bunch of random idiots on a street corner waiting for a bus. There was a degree of talent among us, musically, but with KISS, me and Paul, along with Ace and Peter in our formative years, really narrowed things down in regards to image and musical style. Our aim was to become heavy metal's Beatles: four guys in pursuit of a common goal, and as a fan, you could be both a fan of the band and STILL have a favorite member OF the band."

I found this this evening. I thought it was very motown sounding, but they wore thier influences on thier sleeves. Beatles, Mama's and the Papa's, Jethro Tull,and Pink Floyd. I am glad they chose to restructuring and going for a hard edge.
@ItsThatDaveGuy4 ай бұрын
Yes they certainly made some crucial decisions both lineup and musically at that time . I still hope for an official release . Thankyou for the comment👍

Wicked Lester’s “We Want To Shout It Out Loud” was originally a song recorded by The Hollies titled “ I Wanna Shout”.

Nice review. For years I had a cassette of these tracks that was horrible quality but I have recently picked up this same copy of the record you have and the sound quality is really good (compared to my old cassette) I've always enjoyed this collection of pre KISS tunes and having this record is great.

Thanks Bill . I hope we get an official release one day but for now this is great and I really like it. I think most Kiss fans would buy it .🤩

@@ItsThatDaveGuy It would be nice to see an official release of this but they really did a nice job with this release. I'm glad I was able to pick it up.

These are in a different order than I'm used to. I'm used to "simple type" being the 1st track. And it goes right into "she" as the 2nd track... there is a version on KZbin that I'm used to
@ItsThatDaveGuy2 ай бұрын
Yer there are a few different ones out there . I really hope we see an official release.
@joeburrows2152 ай бұрын
@ItsThatDaveGuy probably have to wait til the other members of that group pass away hahaha 😆 😂..otherwise I bet they would have released it already. We know how much they love their money!! But yea even to have the vinyl copy you have would be awesome . How much did that copy cost?

Interesting. "What Happens in The Darkness" sounds like the Fifth Dimension.

The 70's! "Molly" sounds beatlesque. The flute reminds of Jethro Tull. But "She" is something special. And KISS is already there. In Paul's voice. "Love Her All I Can" The hunger for more! I enjoyed this review, (although your English is difficult)🌹

Yer Paul voice is spot on. Glad you liked the review. Not sure what you mean on my English ? Is it the Aussieness?

@@ItsThatDaveGuy "Aussi" English. Sounds nice. Here in Europe it's unusual. But I read the subtitles. Your review is very informative.

Please let me know if you hear anything. I'd love to hear it if it actually exists... I suppose it could be a song written but never recorded. I've been a Kiss fan since very early on. I have one of the first pressing copies of the first album... doesn't include the song Kissin' Time.
