I heard this song on a cassette that a relative had, I liked it a lot, it took a long time for us to see each other again and he gave it to me He gave it as a birthday present and I still hold on to that tape with great appreciation. It has good rock and country songs.

"The best I can do is sometimes not good enough". And when "Wicked Lester" was not good enough, Paul and Gene left! Paul as a New York guy is not born to sing country/folk. He was born to rock! Born to be KISS 💋

is this written by Paul? It says he was born in Illinois here in these lyrics...its amazing how good these recording are for being from 72.

This is a sing that is just following trends from this era. He isn't from Illinois.

They were capable of the folk music type stuff, but I just don't think they would have survived as a band if they hadn't changed directions and became who they were

Sounds like they were emulating The Band on this track.

The harmonica reminds of Bob Dylan.

Without Peter and Ace it's just another wanna be band.

Probably the numerous bands where Ace and Peter played before sounded similar.

You see, this is Wicked Lester. They were Pre KISS, Ace wasn't in it and Peter was in it for like a couple months but never recorded anything. So your wrong.

So with Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr is a wanna be band? Stupid comment
