As a rapper the biggest takeaway from this is to appreciate how much Ren incorporates his singing voice to add harmonies in his rapping. It gives the delivery an extra dimension that lifts the flows off the page with greater texture, which in turn helps with both added emotion as well as understanding the lyrics. Very few rappers can do this - once you hear it, it just makes regular rapping sound dead and monotone. It’s actually harder to pack in subtle melodies on a flow than it is to sing a melody on a song - because on a song, the lyrics are slower and stretched out, giving more space to change and break into melodies. And the clever use of auto tune when he sings “wicked ways”. He doesn’t use it because he needs it, but to add a robotic/metallic tone to it for effect.
