I agree. Despite they only spent 2 days together, I’m willing to forgive that because they didn’t really like each other at first, especially with him trying to scare/trick her into going home. But especially with her saying she prefers Eugene Fitzherbert over Flynn Rider I feel meant A LOT to him, being accepted as a orphan who just wanted a better life. Also the fact he panicked as soon as he figured out how dangerous “mother” was, was so impactful, especially when he kept pushing her hair away from his wound, trying to show he isn’t ok at all losing her

I feel like Aladdin and Jasmine should have been bumped up a bit higher due to an episode of the Aladdin animated TV series where Aladdin is willing to turn himself into a snake creature (seemingly forever) just to be with Jasmine after she is similarly cursed. If I remember the episode correctly it started with Mirage discussed as a human woman vendor that sold Jasmine a bottle of some ounments or something you put on the boddy, but it slowly turned her into a snake creature and the only cure was to eat some pear shaped fruit from some kind of a rare tree. And when they was close Mirage cheated and made that the tree and the fruit would rot away. And when Jasmine was prepared to leave Aladdin he putted some of the ointment thing on him self and turned into also a snake creature. I don't know what he says in english but in the swedish dub he says:"If we can't be together as humans, than let us be together as this."

Kristoff and Anna was just a problem because they clearly were having writing issues on plot focus. Not to mention such practical and grounded Kristoff, who lived through the first movie, wouldn't naturally try to get in the way of his girlfriend worrying about her beloved sister; just keep her out of danger during the trip again. I wouldn't call Cinderella and the Prince's relationship shallow in the first movie, firstly Cinderella didn't even know she was dancing with the Prince and the Prince married Cinderella knowing she is a kitchen maid. For Snow and the Prince, I believe they knew each other before. Snow White sings "Im wishing, for THE ONE I LOVE to find me today" And the Prince sings "now that I FOUND YOU hear what I have to say" implying they know each-other. The book Fairest Of All also confirms this, that they were secretly meeting before, and then there was a gap and then Snow was forced into servitude . The reason Snow got startled was not because he was a stranger but the fact she was embarrassed to be seen in rags. We see her fixing her hair and straightening her clothes when reappearing to him again confirming that. And also the Prince didn't care she was in rags "wait don't run away" And after they were separated we learn that the Prince "searched far and wide for the maiden" for months so I wouldn't call their relationship shallow either. And kissing someone you love and believe to be dead goodbye, I don't see anything wrong with that. :)
@justemmalyn79342 жыл бұрын
Oh interesting! I never realized that about Snow White and the prince. The huge issue I see with their relationship though is that supposedly she's 14 and he's 30-something? That's so creepy! If they were both around the same age though, it would be really sweet :)

I think they were complletely ruined in the series. Rapunzel not only always takes him for granted, she also lets cassandra constantly insult him and says nothing, keeps secrets from him in the first episode and rejects his proposals even though she was willing to give up her entire freedom and basically her entire life just for him in the movie. And now your telling me she would let another person constantly insult him, lie to him, take him for granted and even reject him? Are you kidding me? This seems so out of character for rapunzel. I could believe it if she wasn’t willing to give up her life for him in the movie but she was! Like that it seems just out of character. And it’s also completely unrealistic for the time period they live in to reject a proposal and then still be together. Back then you could only be together if you were engaged or married, that’s why all the princesses marry so early, it’s just fitting for the time period and I hate it when people criticize the other princesses for marrying so early when that’s only how things worked back then, you had to be married or engaged other else you couldn’t be together. And I hate it that she rejected his proposal and then was allowed to still date him in the series that’s not realistic for the time period. If you want a modern relationship you should let it take place in today’s time not the 18th century! And if the writers didn’t want her to be married yet they should have just let them be engaged at least. I hate how they portrayed marriage as a prison for rapunzel even though she loves him. Marriage only means you can’t break up with this person anymore and if she really loved him she wouldn’t consider a life with him as a prison. I mean this is the person for whom she was willing to give up her entire life! I just don’t get it! And what's worse is that it seems Like she only changed her mind about marriage because Stalyan wanted him which makes it seem Like she only wants him when another wants him which is so toxic! And If she considers being married to him to be a prison then I dont get why the hell she is even still with him If he is that horrible! Flynn deserves better! He was dumped down so much and turned into a complete simp while she seems complletely uninterested in him! I hate this stupid series!

They are great even tn the movie and series even more developed them, complited movie and it's so coherent. @@Anik-ge9vg actually I really liked it dug into mature themes too. Like the episode Attila the cupcake baker was accused of destroying a bakery next door, almost in a way kinda stereotyping all because he never takes his helmet off and is shy too, but Rapunzel fought for her friend! Or even she actually has deeper daddy relationship issues than Ariel and Triton, considering her father was hiding secrets about Old Corona, which is connected to her hair. Or even the part Rapunzel is forced to put the safety of Corona’s people over the kid from S1 (can’t remember his name) and he grows to resent her because of how much his village suffered. I also really love how patient Eugene is about getting married, just wanting Rapunzel to be happy and she’s stuck with him! Plus his love/hate relationship with the captain of the guard and Cassandra is hilarious
@mariechen43757 ай бұрын
@@kristinahuchison2511I think this stupid TV series completely destroyed their relationship..

I love Rapunzel and Eugene but y'all clearly haven't seen Tiana and Naveen's relationship from the Princess and the Frog, if you think they're ult info: Naveen was a happy-go-lucky playboy who's been cut off from the trust fund because of his constant partying and so he sets off to marry a rich man's daughter to stay rich and he falls in love with Tiana (istg yall should see the movie) and what really gave it for me is that scene where Naveen wanted to propose to Tia but ends up stopping himself because he wanted to fulfill Tia's dream of opening a restaurant and he can't do that without marrying himself off to have money. Plus, Naveens character development from Trophy husband material to just zaddy you can depend on is amazing. Princess and the Frog is sooooo underrated, it has some of the best characters in it. I think, especially highlighted in the second and third movies, Aladin and Jasmine have a more realistic relationship than many of the others. Aladin especially is a flawed guy, and they both know it, but neither of them let that ruin the relationship. I think the jewel of this paring is the song, "Forget about Love" for all the right reasons. In a nutshell, the primary thing that sets their relationship apart that the others don't is Forgiveness. And no, since we see Aladin genuinely trying to improve himself, he is not being abusive to Jasmine simply because he needs a lot of forgiveness.
@lunettasuziejewel20802 жыл бұрын
My favorite moment of the King of Thieves movie is after Aladdin springs his father, when he knows that if he goes back he'll be arrested, he still snaps at Qasim that "I *won't* walk out on Jasmine!" A lot of Aladdin's character flaws, even his dishonesty with Jasmine, can be traced back to his feelings of abandonment and all the survival skills he had to develop to compensate for not having anyone to look out for him. He might still be very flawed and have a lot of maladaptive behaviors to unlearn, but he's been high-empathy/compassionate person from the start, and the fact that he's willing to accept punishment just to keep Jasmine from the anguish of not knowing what happened to him/second-guessing whether he really loved her* says a lot about how he's grown as a person and partner over the three movies. * Not to mention that, with this utterance (and his conversation with Genie at the beginning of the movie), he's becoming cognizant of what the root of his problems are...and while recognizing you have a problem is the first step, understanding where it comes from is the most significant step, imo.

For the info… prince Florian was supposed to fight a dragon for Snow White. It was planned. But Walt felt that it would both make the film too long and bump up the animation bill beyond being able to manage paying for it. At the time, nothing like Snow White had ever been done. So Walt had no way of knowing for sure that it would bring back a good enough return to warrant paying for the extra cels that would have gone into the prince’s arc.
@torytellstales2 жыл бұрын
I personally don't like to count Prince Florian and Snow White as a couple: Here is my reason...... There is a theory out there that Snow White actually died at the end of the film and that the prince is supposed to be Death. In older legends, Death wasn't just portrayed as a skeleton in robes and a scythe, he could take on any form and was symbolized by doves and rode a white horse. Many people also believe Snow White and Florian's relationship to be creepy considering the age of the prince is in his 30s while Snow White is 14. But what if I told you there was never any romance with these two characters? Death doesn't approach people to be romantic, he approaches people with the intention of leading them to the afterlife like a polite escorting gentleman. He never said to Snow White "Oh I love you so much!" He says"Now that I found you, I have but one song, only for you", he is trying to politely tell her that her fate is coming soon without scaring her. When he kisses her, it is the kiss of death, the final step to taking her to heaven. How else do you explain the castle in the sky at the end? I truly do believe this theory because I used to be creeped out by the prince as a kid. After hearing this theory, my feeling creeped out as a kid makes SO MUCH sense, since he's literally the Grim Reaper.

Belle and Beast should be waay higher. Their relationship was difficult and unusual, but i don't think it's toxic. Here's my opposite view from the ones pointed out in the video : 1st. Beast snapping at Belle at their early stage of relationship ? I wouldn't call it a relationship at all because they didn't have any back when he was all 'beasty' to her. Belle traded places with her father and had agree to stay forever. She didn't want anything to do with Beast because he was the jerk who locked up her father. And Beast initially viewed her just as a tool to broke his curse. So early on, they both weren't in a relationship, at least not romantically inclined towards being a couple. Who would call this 'non existent relationship' as toxic ? They were strangers who happened to be beneath the same roof for one night. Belle even run away the same night after the whole West wing fiasco. They only came to a better understanding after snapping AT EACH OTHER when she was treating his wounds. I wouldn't call their efforts to 'try knocking some sense into someone who just saved your life' toxic. I also wouldn't call them friends at this point because they weren't. They were just two people who barely knew each other and just saved each other lives (Beast saved her from the wolves and Belle saved him from dying in the cold). 2nd. Beast didn't let her go until after her father's at the death door. Beast DIDN'T know Maurice has gone looking for his daughter and got stranded in the snow storm. He found out the moment Belle herself did, through the magic mirror. In a sense, he was the one who helped her find her father's whereabout. And he let her go to him even without Belle asking him to. There's no guarantee she would come back but he ler her leave. Not even mention anything about his impending doom and the curse If he didn't let her go, or let her go but make her promise to return, then it could be a toxic relationship, because that means he only wants to use her. But he didn't ask anything of her AT ALL. He was willing to sacrifice himself and all his servants for her freedom, something she already traded for her father in the beginning. So, i would say the toxic relationship in the movie was NOT between him and Belle. It was between Beast and his servant. For they love him unconditionally for years and he took their love for granted. He almost let them became furnitures forever when he let Belle go. He chose Belle's happiness over theirs and the servant didn't blame him one bit for it. After all their longing to be human again, after putting up with their a-hole master for so long. Beast didn't even apologize to them for jeopardizing their future like that AFTER making them endured the curse for 10 years! He really does take his servant for granted till the end. That's what i called a toxic relationship. Lucky them everything works out for a happy ending. Conclusion : Belle and Beast doesn't have a toxic relationship. Beast was a toxic person before yes, but his toxic relationship wasn't with Belle.

I completely agree with you . I am already bored of this videos talking about Belle and Beast as a Toxic relationship ( and all that stupid Stockolm Syndrome thing). BUT , I disagree about the relationship of Beast and his servants ; because at the end it was a co dependency relationship . It was a monarchy and the staff lived I the castle so they had food and hostage while they served to the prince . Of course the Beast barely cared about them after Belle leaved because he was Depressed, even SUICIDAL if you think he merely put any resistance against Gaston. When he returned to be a human , he treats them very kind and cares about them , is happy to see them as humans too. Depression can seriously affect our senses , people with that condition often doesn't care of others not because they are evil or toxic , it's because of a mental crisis that even them can't explain

I'm not sure I agree with most of these standings, but maybe I'm not understanding your thought processes. Are you ranking the couples generally or based on what was happening on the screen at that very moment? A good example of my confusion would be Mulan 2, which was why you had ranked them so lowly on your list - the entire point of that movie and arc for the characters was learning when to compromise and communicate better. When the movie ended they had learned that lesson, making them a much stronger and healthier couple. I definitely wouldn't consider rough starts as examples of grey or toxic relationships. Another example of what I'm talking about being the Beast snapping at Belle early on in their relationship - you said it yourself: it was early on in their relationship & then they learned and grew together. (Also, the Stockholm thing has been debunked 100 times over. That isn't what Stockholm Syndrome is.) Sorry if my thoughts are scattered! I just genuinely don't understand where some of these placements are coming from based on the reasoning given. It doesn't seem very well thought through in my opinion. *Edited for grammar

I personally would have put Anna and Kristoff relationship as toxic. It’s kinda obvious that Anna is just not ready for a relationship and due to the trauma with Hans she just jumped from one guy to another due to the trauma. And sadly due to frozen 2 the lack of communication, common ground and it being so one sided I think we all agree that they will either end up resenting one another or break up…. To be honest Anna and Kristoff reminds me a lot like those couples that work better as friends than them actually being married. Even Disney friend zoned them all the time!!! We almost never see Kristoff and Anna together and in best friends day instead of using a picture of Elsa and Anna or Anna and olaf or anything like that…. They used Kristoff and Anna. (I was like wait… aren’t they supposed to be engaged?) like if even the company that made them friend zones them then I think it shows what people think of their relationship.
@kristinahuchison25112 жыл бұрын
I agree. Kristoff was lecturing her about marrying someone she only knew for one night, but ironically thats the same amount of time she had with him, while yes they don’t get married in the end, still kinda the same problem, so in a way Kristoff is a hypocrite. I really wish Disney would make a prince and princess that they maybe do have feelings for each other but in the end agree just to be friends instead, not because they love someone else or anything, just they don’t feel that way about each other. And no I don’t count Pocahontas and John Smith in that trope from the ending or that stupid sequel. But yes Kristoff even talked about not trusting humans after his sled was destroyed, but then all of a sudden “loves” Anna at the end? Like dude only thing you did was save her from falling to her death 2X and your family trying to perform a wedding and you’re arguing you 2 aren’t a couple?

I don't agree and honestly I don't see how did you get that idea. The company have made pictures of them together as a couple (there's one very cute where Kristoff is lifting Anna and they are looking each other romantically) and they had a very good development at the end when he said he was with her for anything she could need and she apologized for leaving before him. They are one of the most beautiful couples, I am just sad his kiss was not as romantic as others but hey, they kissed and I am happy ^^

@@kristinahuchison2511 How can be the same problem when Kristoff was lecturing anna because she was going to marry a guy the same day after meeting him but at the end Kristoff and Anna didn't get marry? :/ The problem is not necessarily falling in love in one or two days, the problem is wanting to marry someone you don't know AT ALL. Kristoff didn't want to marry Anna after saving her life (which by the way is kind of a big deal for me) but after spending several months with her and having a thing called character development, that's why he learned to trust humans more, Anna help him to do that, and that's why they are one amazing couple :')

@@aracelichely2954 I disagree. He literally got so excited because she kept her word about replacing his sled “I could kiss you!” What I mean is the events in the first literally end in 2 days, and all of a sudden Kristoff loves her? I said yes they don’t get married in the first, but his love kinda came out of nowhere, especially when he made the comment about not trusting others. This is literally the same problem I have with Pocahontas and John Rolfe, they were stuck on a ship together for 4 damn months which was 4X the amount she had with John Smith, but the writers literally didn’t work with that time, even when they arrived in London it’s obvious they have a platonic relationship and don’t “like” each other. He started getting “feelings” for her when she was plastered in powder and in a hideous ballgown to whitewash her to make her appear more civilized/English. In other words, John Rolfe “loved” the civilized Pocahontas, while John Smith always embraced her as a Native American princess who was a free spirit like him who fought for what she believed in!

Are you forgetting that there’s another movie Frozen 2 and by that time they have spent more time together probably a year or two .In Frozen 2 there’s a part where Anna is about to go confront the ice giants or whatever to break the dam and Kristoff rides up and says to Anna “What do you need,I’m here for you” . Also did you conveniently forget that Kristoff was willing to give Anna up because even though he lectured her on marrying a guy she just met he still thought Hans was Anna’s true love. Also Kristoff does ask Anna to marry him in Frozen 2 which it seems you haven’t seen because you would know they get married

They don't even know each other that well. The first couple is the best one, not gonna lie. But for example: mulan and shang had problems because (aside from mushu) they are human beings, different from each other and that is right, it's healthy to have differences, and they fixed it...which is the point of it...

I mostly agree with Ariel and Eric and Cinderella and Charming. Eric fell in love with her voice instead of who she was without it, and Ariel was so sick of her daddy’s overprotective rules she was ready to give up everything for someone she didn’t even know aside he played the snarfblat and had a dog. Otherwise even revealing she was a mermaid was rather dangerous as well. Cinderella and Charming, Cinderella herself is an excellent character as she had to go through hell with her stepfamily but was kind and compassionate determined one day things would change. But he’s easily my least favorite prince, he doesn’t actually go out himself to find her, relied on a shoe despite KNOWING several women would probably fit it, and doesn’t even give the Grand Duke a physical description of her either! Even counting 3 he was spelled the entire time Anastasia was the one, I don’t really count jumping out a window or chasing a ship as heroic. My only problem with Tiana and Naveen is becoming human again I would’ve thought they’d wait until AFTER Tiana’s restaurant was built to get married, using the money made to pay for their wedding instead if Naveen’s royalties as prince. Imo Pocahontas and John Smith definitely deserved the silver. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are definitely best couple!

@@kristinahuchison2511 I don’t agree. Eric fell in love with Ariel for who she was that’s why it’s my favorite Disney Princess movie. Eric didn’t believe that Ariel was still the girl that saved him because of her missing voice but he was willing to give up looking for the mystery girl to be with Ariel hence why he throws the flute into the ocean. Ursula literally intervenes because she realizes Eric is falling for Ariel all over again. For Cinderella, it would take your case of not for Cinderella 3. Because of magic the shoe does fit another girl and the Prince comes in apologizing for the mistake until he put under a spell. I think people who don’t like Eric and Prince Charming are under the impression that if another girl had the voice or another girl fit the shoe they would marry them but if you’re paying attention to the movies that’s wrong. The voice and the shoe were their only way of finding them. If multiple girls fit the shoe the Prince would have looked until he found Cinderella. Eric didn’t even need the voice he still fell in love with her anyway.

Rapunzel was exactly the Same in that stupid series and she wasn't called Out! Are you kidding me??? I Just dont get it! I agree about Anna but I think it's unfair only to call her Out on it and Not Rapunzel who did the exact Same Thing!

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume English isn't your first language, so here's some linguistic nuance for you that hopefully Google translate can pick up: The word "relationship" in English is not synonymous with "romance". It means the emotional status between two or more people. A mother and her children is a "relationship". Having friends is a "relationship". Having an enemy is still a "relationship", because it's how you relate to that person, positive or negative or anything in between. This video very explicitly clarifies that it means the hero and their main relationship as explored by their respective movies. So regardless of their romantic interests or lack therof, it's interesting to explore how characters 'relate' to one another, and the comparitive health of that relationship. That's what this video is aiming for, not trying to claim all these people are in love or should be a couple.

In the movie, Rapunzel and Flynn’s relationship is this wonderful, heartfelt story where they both grow together, and they make sacrifices for one another. The whole point of their love was that they both saw each other for who they really were, flaws and all, and accepted each other completely. Flynn was willing to die for her at the end of the movie because he knew exactly how much she meant to him. And Rapunzel, in turn, chose him and chose freedom, a love she had never known. They were two people who learned from each other and complemented each other, making their love feel real and strong. But the series completely reverses this, and it destroys what made them such a strong couple in the first place. In the series, Rapunzel isn’t just ignoring Flynn-she’s treating him with this weird, passive disregard, like he’s not important. She lets Cassandra-her supposed best friend-belittle him, and instead of defending him, she just stands there. It’s as though Flynn’s feelings and emotions are secondary to Rapunzel’s, which is absolutely toxic. It’s baffling and, frankly, it just hurts to see her treat Flynn this way. The character arc that worked so well in the movie is completely discarded for the sake of drama in the series, and it doesn’t feel authentic to the characters or their original dynamic. The Problem with the "Rejecting Marriage" Plotline The whole marriage rejection plotline is one of the worst things the series did to the relationship, and it makes zero sense when compared to the movie. In Tangled, Rapunzel’s willingness to give up everything for Flynn, including her freedom, was a powerful moment. She loved him deeply, and that was part of the movie’s central theme: love is about selflessness and compromise. It wasn’t about her giving up everything, but rather that she was willing to face a new life, a new future with him, even if it meant the unknown. Then, in the series, suddenly Rapunzel doesn’t want to marry him? She treats marriage like it’s some sort of prison, even after she almost lost him in the movie. It’s like the show wants to tell little girls that marriage is a "trap" when, in reality, that couldn’t be further from the truth. The fact that Rapunzel keeps rejecting Flynn’s proposals, knowing full well how much he loves her and how much she loves him, just doesn’t make sense. It’s not a healthy relationship when one person is so clearly not on the same page as the other. Relationships require compromise from both sides, but in this case, Flynn is constantly the one who has to bend and change. That’s not fair to him, and it’s not fair to any real-life relationship either. The idea that marriage is a "prison" or something negative, especially when they’re so deeply in love, is a dangerous message. It teaches kids that love and commitment are burdens, rather than something beautiful and life-affirming. And it sets unrealistic expectations for relationships. If you love someone, the natural progression is to want to be with them for the long term, including marriage. Rejecting someone’s proposal multiple times just shows they’re not on the same page, and honestly, that’s when a relationship should be reevaluated. It’s heartbreaking to see Rapunzel treat Flynn this way because, in the movie, their love was so pure and mutual. But here, Flynn’s wishes and feelings seem to matter so little, and that’s not a healthy dynamic at all. Why Rapunzel’s Actions Are Toxic Rapunzel’s behavior in the series is toxic. She’s passive, inconsiderate, and at times, outright mean to Flynn. She does things that are disrespectful-like drawing his face on a punching bag for Cassandra-without any acknowledgment of how hurtful that would be to him. It’s not something she’d do in the movie. It’s like the series wanted to make her "strong" or "independent," but they did it in the worst possible way-by making her selfish and unkind, which is completely the opposite of what made her a great character in the first place. relationships where one person is always the one compromising and giving in can’t work. Flynn deserves better than to constantly be the one who’s expected to be okay with things Rapunzel doesn’t agree with. It’s just not fair to him, and it creates a dynamic that’s unhealthy. No one wants to feel like their needs are being ignored in a relationship, and Flynn constantly being forced to let Rapunzel have her way, even when it means his feelings are hurt, is just... wrong. Why This Isn’t Healthy or Realistic This kind of dynamic is not healthy, and it definitely shouldn’t be promoted, especially to kids. The idea that relationships should be a constant struggle where one person is always "giving in" to make the other happy doesn’t work in the real world. If both people aren’t truly committed to each other and equally invested, then the relationship is bound to fail. Kids watching this might think that relationships are about letting one person always get what they want, and that’s just not true. Relationships are about compromise, respect, and working together, and that’s not what we see in Tangled: The Series. What Disney Should Have Done What Disney should have done is keep the integrity of the characters from the movie and not force unnecessary drama into their relationship just to fill a TV series plot. They should have taken the time to explore their post-movie life in a way that felt authentic and true to who they were as people in the movie. Instead of writing Rapunzel as someone who pushes Flynn aside and treats him poorly, the series could have focused on them growing together in their new roles as a couple, building their life together as they face new challenges. That’s the story we wanted to see. Not one where they’re constantly at odds, not one where Flynn is belittled and Rapunzel is emotionally detached.

Beauty and the beast defence time… While belle is the protagonist, Adam is the “hero”, in that is mostly his story of changing and transformation, in all senses. He starts off angry, selfish, and isolated, and gradually learns that actual love means putting someone else before you. Belle is the first person to ever show him that. She gives up her own freedom to save her father, and when she does the beast is visibly confused. One of the main points of their relationship is that it develops in the REVERSE of most abusive relationships. Adam is cruel and controlling- belle leaves. They have to wrangle her back with the wolves scene after that. First sign of selflessness from them. Belle only allows Adam to spend any time with her if he is respectful and gentle. He finds he likes being like that. Adam falls in love with her, and wants her to be free and happy more than he wants to be happy by keeping her with him. It’s got it’s dodgy points.
