Just make sure to disable the air filter option on the tachometer before you do anything. I believe that's one of the 1-5 instructions it mentions on the sticker before you open it.

I just installed this kit on my 19 Sierra Denali w/6.2L and it really made a difference in the overall power, performance, and mileage I get out of the truck now. Plus I love the throaty goodness of being able to hear the monster under the hood. I highly recommend this CAI for any 2019+ Sierra/Silverado w/5.3 or 6.2 engine combination. Whole install takes about an hour and a couple of basic tools, having a small ladder helps to reach the harder locations in the bottom of the airbox.

I picked up a Silverado ZR2 a couple of weeks ago myself and I have the S&B CAI coming in tomorrow and the AWE exhaust is waiting to be shipped from AWE. I really wanted the new LZ0 diesel in an AT4 but for the same price that I was looking at there, I was able to get the ZR2 so I reasoned that the offset decline in fuel economy would be worth it in the long-run with the ZR2. We'll see. I also have a C8 Corvette so I wasn't terribly opposed to the 6.2 as it's essentially the same motor that is in the C8 but with a different intake and of course, exhaust manifolds. If I could get it without the DFM I certainly would have but I live with that in my C8, as well. To the CAI naysayers, you have to remember to look at it from the correct perspective. What I love about the S&B product is the ISO testing on filtration efficiency and airflow, so you know you are getting results. Each specific application and filter are tested and you can download the test results for your own consumption. You just don't get that level of empirical and transparent data with many other CAI's out there. With the ISO testing, you know that these CAI's from S&B are achieving the two most important factors you want out of any intake: more air on top of increased filtration efficiency over the OE intake. Often times the case, you can get more airflow but your sacrificing filtration efficiency. GM LS/LT motors have notoriously always come tuned from the factory extremely rich, so by adding increased airflow you are essentially able to slightly lean out the air/fuel ratio a tad bit. In most applications, your ECU can accommodate this greater flow of air via the fuel trims even without a tune. Add a tune into the equation and sure, a good tuner will be able to optimize the AFR even more precisely, resulting in even greater gains, but you don't have to have a tune with most CAI's and that is evident by the CEL remaining off after you install the CAI. Regardless however if that translates into something you can pick up on the butt dyno or not, (there are a lot of variables that go into the equation,) you know your S&B CAI is doing what it is intended to do. Also, I have noticed from other dyno runs before and after that with a CAI your largest gains typically come in the mid-range. These gains will typically be greater than peak gains at the higher RPM bands, which essentially means to you that you will realize those gains more frequently in real world driving as you will spend more time in the mid-RPM range than you will at the peak RPM powerbands, especially in a big heavy truck. You get the best of both worlds from S&B CAI's, more air and an even greater filtration efficiency, and you have the ISO testing to prove it.

pulsar LT will take care of the tire size. turning off DFM and autostop is a must. but more importantly tweaking the throttle sensitivity unleashed my 6.2. best mod I've done on any truck I have ever had

I had the K&N CAI on my 2019 6.2l AT4 and now I have the S&B on my 2022 3.0l AT4 refresh diesel and I believe it helps a tad bit with throttle response, mpg, but the best reward is the gargling noise it makes when you press on the accelerator.

I had a 2021 6.2 Trail Boss and the S&B made a huge difference. Just remember to change the filter because I did not and it declined over time. I just bought a 24 Trail Boss with a 5.3 and I'm installing another one soon.

Pulsar LT. It offers so much more too. It can change your tire sizes, tire pressures, governed speed, turn off auto start/ stop, turn off dynamic fuel management, throttle response. Had it on my 19 AT4, took it off and putting it on my AT4X shortly.

Awesome setup! Any reason you chose this over the Cold Air Inductions intake? I'm looking to do an intake when I get my AT4X and trying to figure out which to get.
@WICKEDAUTO1
@WICKEDAUTO1 Жыл бұрын
Look and price was my only reason. I think the S&b looks wayyy better and it's cheaper, plus the ISO testing that they publish showing how much more efficient it is over stock. However cold air inductions from what I've seen has proven by many a pretty good increase with tq and hp.

Any reason why the MAF sensor is installed right next to the PCV return?? I don't understand why it would be so close, as it the possibility of fouling the MAF sensor is exponentially increased. Also don't understand the reasoning for the open ports on the air box. It allows hot engine air in. The point of "cold" air intake is to reduce heated air.
@WICKEDAUTO1
@WICKEDAUTO1 Жыл бұрын
Not sure about the MAF sensor but the open ports are directly in line with the vents on the front of the truck, so it’s pulling in the cold air as your driving
