As you scale up your account, you're looking at handling 6 figures account, 1-3% risk per trade is way a lot than handling a 4 figure account. It comes into play in all parts of trading, from deciding which trades to put on to managing positions and portfolios. Risk management is not just about calculating probability, it is also about understanding the risks in the market. The best way to understand risk management is to break it down into two parts: 1. The risk of losing money invested 2. The risk of holding an asset until it becomes worthless Risk management is not an easy task. It takes time, patience, and experience to be able to analyze it correctly. This is not a topic that can be mastered in a day. Nor can it be learned just by reading books or watching videos. @wow360 I've found in my experience that sometimes you should cut losses early. And sometimes you should take profits early. In a perfect world we'll always go either stop loss or take profit, but it isn't always that way, at least for me.

@wow360 u ain't getting the whole concept , the essence of SL for me is to Stop my Trade especially in a high Volatile Market , then if that did not happen and market goes against me little by little and pass half my SL or Certain range , then I reduce my loss by Cutting 50% of it and let the remaining run to my SL or back to profit , if it hit my SL , then my initial loss will be lesser , but if it goes into my TP , I will still get little profit from the trade even though I had cut out 50% of the trade in Loss I hope u get it 😉

Raja I think your holding yourself back by telling people that they should manage risk at 0.5% per trade. Nothing more, nothing less. I strongly believe anything more than 0.5% risk per trade, would be disastrous especially when everyone is trying to trade or gain access to a trading prop firm, ftmo etc.
