I have been looking at videos of 16mm lenses the whole week and Im so glad KZbin recommended this one. The first 4mins already are gold. Simple the best 16mm lens video Ive watched so far. Love the tips, love the fact that the whole video seems to be shot in 16mm (if im correct, lol) The whole aesthetic and the vibe of the video just seems like a perfect fit for such a fun lens as a 16mm lens. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your 16mm Focal Length Challenge. When I first started shooting professionally, I did not even have a wide-angle lens. However, my first assignment at the newspaper were I was working was to photograph the grand opening an Ethan Allen furniture store. That was when I realized I really needed a wide-angle lens. Over years, I added 35, 28, 24, 21, 18, and 14mm wide-angle lenses to my inventory. I have never tried using my 18 or 14mm lenses in a one-lens/one-body challenge.

I am coming into this comment section a bit late, but I just purchased a 16mm RF lens for my vertical specific video rig (EOS R8) in order to also produce and create very unique perspectives for clients reels which can (hopefully) set me apart from others who *just* shoot in the more common 28mm style "vertical phone" field of view. Dear Becki & Chris the most famous lens now is Canon 28mm-70mm kindly review those for us, your reviews are really great and fun to watch, so as i heard 28mm-70mm can replace the primes like 24-28-35-50-85 so kinda like 1 ring to rule em all, so that’s my question to you😊am sure it’ll be interesting for you to find out too, cheers John.G

Love this video! The FPV shots are unreal. I just bought a cheap adapter for my A7R3 to use old Nikon-mount glass I got when I was much younger. One being a real cheap 16mm but I've fallen in love with the wide look and it not being tack sharp, gives it character!

Years ago, I saw my personnel file. It described my job interview, and me as having a "commanding presence." Bearing that in mind, I used a TS-E 17 for a self portrait. I set the camera as low as I could, horizontal, the lens shifted up. I organised myself up, as high as I could, and clicked away. The result, an almost full-body portrait. It's somewhere on my Facebook page. I announced late last year, my plan to use the wrong lens and the wrong settings. This was part of it.

I brought a Canon 6D Mark II last week. I'm loving it, of course. But my main lense, a Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3, is only for APS-C sensor, so I'm limited to my other lens, a 50mm f/1.8. Watching this video makes me want to shoot wide soooooo much 😭
@petrakakytch48094 жыл бұрын
I love wide angle! I loved 10-18mm lens for canon (tho on my cropped sensor with 1.6 factor 10 is more like 16mm) and i loved using it for event photography (electronic music festival for shooting groups of people to be precise) :D A month ago i bought new phone (Redmi Note 8T) that has ultra wide lens and 48MP camera... Tbh i don't care about 48MP as much as I do about that wide angle because now storytelling with my photos is way more dramatic because of distortion 👽☺️👌🏻

I’m in Sydney Australia, just a few minutes before to shoot a band. I have the 24-70 and the 16-24 in my backpack. So I’ll try something different and I’ll share with you ;) Wish me luck!
@oneeyedphotographer4 жыл бұрын
The distortion is caused by the relevance positions of camera and subject, rather than the lens, coupled with our bran's unfamiliarity with the wider view. If you have nothing particularly close to the camera, it's fine. Portraits with a fisheye, please. I have done it, it can work well.

👍Love the series. Glad to hear others are also pulling for 85mm. 16-35 f2.8 in my travel kit was a practical choice due to space consideration (purchased before the Tamron 17-28 debut) and it does spend a lot of time on the camera. I use 16mm, but infrequently. 18mm is about is about my limit before things get a bit too weird for my eye. But yes, very wide shots can be used for dramatic perspectives and cool effects! If you are not obsessed with keeping your vertical lines straight in the frame it can be fun. 😅
