I've been listening to this prog album thing for hours like 99999 trillion times (AT LEAST), and everytime i hear it, it is fully different, new and beautiful. I think that this is the best modern prog album ever made so far, but not only because of personal taste. Because of the effort and emotion you put in it. Because every song is so complex, well made and perfectly balanced with the others. In particular the last: Vertigo, contains parts of all the other previous songs but combined with new elements, like a neoclassical symphony, and it's good to hear as a neoclassical symphony too. 😅😅😅 It is so unique, peculiar, special and i really struggle to find a BARELY SIMILAR beauty on the internet! I mean, where does this music come from? 👽 From which dimension?😅😅😅 Trust me, this is great to hear every single time. Five stars for sure 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 😁👍

Wait wait wait, so is this technically a prequel to Terraforming?? The end of Vertigo - the underlying melody is the same as in Renaissance (first song off Terraforming) and the lead melody is aaaalmost the same as the one at the end of Engineers III - Dark Matter (same rhythm, slightly different melody). Furthermore, there are ships flying in both albums' cover art. So perhaps Paradoxica was the home world, and Terraforming is the sequel where our hero leaves the planet to go Terraform some other planet. There's no way this was a coincidence, illuminati confirmed. Also I should mention that this album is incredible, great writing as always!

At first, I wasn't sure if this EP lived up to the absolute smoke show that is Terraforming. But, in typical Wide Eyes fashion it took a while to digest and really feel out all the ideas, motifs, and individual instruments that make up the Wide Eyes sound. But after 10+ listens now I can say that this album is just as good if not better than Terraforming. The drums are huge, the riffs are unique, interesting, and different than anything this band has put out before. The production and mixing is as tight as ever and the solo work is a new level. This, along with Terraforming, will be forever a part of not only my CD rotation, but also my life. Good shit!

Paradoxica is hands down the best Song you guys have ever written. No question. At no point in the song do I feel like it changes pace or needs to sound different. It doesn't sound random or monotonous. I'm a sucker for anything written in a major scale. It sounds so uplifting, and not to mention epic. The ending and solo for this song: probably one of the best things you guys have ever written. It's one of the most uplifting segments I've ever encountered. I feel like I'm being taken on a cosmic, space adventure/journey. (Those squeals near the end add so much character) It sounds so uplifting and beautiful; I almost feel like crying. Seriously. That's not an exaggeration. Near the end of the song, from about 6:03 and on, it retains its technicality and heaviness, yet sounds so melodic and uplifting. I can't stop replaying this song, especially from 6:03 to the end. I'm buying this. You guys have really created something original and amazing. P.s- Come play some shows in and Dallas. Oh... and I'm still waiting for those Ninja Turtles covers!

@OrlandoAponte6 жыл бұрын
I think First Contact is the best song on the album, followed by Paradoxica. Unfortunately, I don't think the rest of the tracks hold up compared to those two. Btw, although Paradoxica may appear to be in a major key due to the way it emphasizes non-tonic chords, it is actually primarily in b minor (although there are ambiguous moments during the heavy riffing). Otherwise it is entirely in b minor. For instance, the harmony starting at 0:39 (G Major with a seventh) is actually the VI chord of the real tonic, which is b minor. You can hear the true tonic of b minor at 0:44 briefly. Any other time you hear this same chord progression (ie 3:16) the same concept applies. They do that a lot throughout the track, which makes it sound tonally ambiguous, but it's really in minor. The most obviously minor section is 6:00 to the end.
